    • Very good build quality
Received in new box wrapped in "Made in China" opaque plastic wrap. So glad I didn't get a return like a couple other reviews were saying. All accessories are there except for the "universal voltage charger" (as the manual puts it) but instead a USB cord just as all other reviews have mentioned, however luckily I do have several 5V 2A adapters around (clippers are labelled for 5V at 1000mA (1A) charger). Battery came fully charged. I plugged it in to charge for a couple hours anyway just in case. Weekend later I was able to barter my mom for a buzz cut in exchange for flower bed work and the hair clippers worked great on my very thick hair (I hate having long hair because of how difficult it is to wash it out in the shower). I did take care to oil the clippers just before use, I however did use a known good sewing machine oil as it's a light machine oil and not the provided oil (just in case kind of thing). So overall worked great for both clipping and trimming, no jamming or trimming guards falling off. Afterwards the clippers registered 96% battery remaining which sounds about right. Cleaning took a while as I tried using the provided brush (not really good) but after several minutes decided it was easier to disassemble the blades and clean with damp paper towels which provided much better and very clean result. Putting the blades back on was quite a bit difficult as you have to take off the blade lever assembly completely, then insert the top blade with its housing spring and bracket then push the bottom bottom blade on top of it and hold it with a thumb (same hand holding the clipper body) while with other hand slide the blade lever metal bracket back into its groove then install lever with screw, and then last install back the two screws for the bottom blade but don't tighten yet until the bottom blame is properly aligned with top blade. So getting that figured out took most of the time. Afterwards of course reapplied oil and then put it all away back into the box. ;-) On note for cleaning the top blade, the one that moves side-to-side when clippers powered on, there is a black plastic bracket that is attached to it that mates with the motor (basically one part of a piston assembly). No need to take it off of the blade and don't clean off the white grease on the plastic piece as that is suppose to be on there and important to have. I did eventually get around to taking apart of the clippers to see how easy it would be to repair and it looks really good inside components wise. Everything held together with screws and not glue. Battery importantly appears to be a 20700 type lithium ion battery which makes it easy to replace when it eventually dies (for those familiar with using a soldering iron). Based on the construction I'm surprised they didn't try making it water resistant using rubber gaskets around motor and body housing as it looks easy to do. Would be so much better if the blades could be rinsed off instead of the brush or disassemble cleaning methods. So yeah overall happy with it. ... show more

    • Nicest trimmer I have had ever.
This thing feels like quality. I owned a cheap $17 trimmer before this. It was plastic and had 45 minutes battery life. I trim my beard every 2 weeks. My wife trims my head every month. That cheap $17 shaver lasted 7 years perhaps. Then the tiny li-ion battery died. I looked for a new battery, expecting it to cost $3 tops. I couldn't find anything below $14. Ridiculous. You can get a new cheap trimmer for that money. This one may cost twice as much, but it's all metal and heavy quality, shaves better, and has 5 hours battery life. The color-coded clips are nice. My dream has finally come true. I have been broken free of the shackles of the Wahl slice and dice. I have hated these those clippers since the first pair I owned back in '80s. They never stay sharp they never cut well. But enough about their crap. I love love love these clippers. One pass did such an amazing job of a super close shave that I was blown away. Usually it takes a while to shave bald because there's always patches and stray hairs and you have to go over and over and over. That's not something you have to worry about with these. Seriously, I've been dreaming of these clippers for years I just couldn't find them. It was the glowing reviews from actual cosmetologists and barbers that caused me to select this product. I am so happy that professionals have started buying from Amazon so that I can learn from them through their reviews. like any of the barbers who have been in the business for 30 years, I will recommend these to everyone. They're sleek they're pretty, who knew you could have amazing function and form combined in one product. It keeps its charge for a super long time so you don't have to worry about interrupting a haircut. It really is a joy to use. it's probably a good thing I don't have dogs or they would have some pretty interesting haircuts. And I'm not going to say that I'm not looking at the cats out of the side of my eye though. That's right hair is hair. You can in fact cut animal hair with "people" clippers. Even if you don't know it they are often the same products. it's just like knowing what art supplies to buy from a hardware store instead of the art store. I only have two complaints. One of the blade guards is melted and twisted so therefore completely unusable. My other complaint is that it did not come with a container. Though I must say the box it's shipped in is very nice for a cardboard box. As I mentioned I have those old horrible wahl clippers, so I threw them out kept the blade guards and my new wonderful clippers now live where the bastard clippers used to. Update 2/2024: So as I mentioned I only cut my kids hair. And I also cut my own. In the time I’ve had them I haven’t used them to extensively. These get VERY HOT. Very fast. If you try to use them for blending out the first guideline, it burns. I spray them constantly with cool care. I’ve cleaned them with barbicide. I don’t know what the “oil” indicator light is for. It does not have a reservoir. They still cut fine and run good. Just get very hot very fast and it’s inconvenient. Thats even with turning on and off as cutting. I am not a barber I just cut my kids hair and my own. I think the worst part of this set is the guards. That’s why 8/10. Unless they’ve changed since June of 2022, when I purchased them, they fall off they do not stay on so be careful! Thankfully I’ve never had an accident. I eventually threw them away and used my Wahls clipper guards. I also zero gapped them they don’t come zero gapped. The battery has been good. I can do probably 3 cuts on one charge but I never let it go past 70 I just recharge. Good set! Clippers are pretty quiet! They’re ergonomic. Not heavy, but solid material for sure! ... show more
