Gorgeous product. The wine leather is a beautifully finished medium brown that has rich tones that catch the light. Immediately had compliments on these. These will look and feel good for most work or play, all but dressy scenarios. More important they are highly functional. The waterproofing is excellent as I've been in standing water and in the rain with no seepage. The Goodyear welt construction means you can keep these for years and re sole as needed. The construction is firm and the leather thick. You will need to break them in a bit once you first get them, soon after you will find a supple but protective leather. The sole is a crepe sole built to be a jack of all trades. It has a short elevated heel. I like this much better than similar boots of much more expensive brands that have a much higher heel. A high boot heel is just not ideal for most use for me. This boot seems much more practical. The wide flat laces are strong and pair well with the leather. The laces run through metal eyelets all the way up. No speed hooks here, and I prefer it this way. When laced all the way up you have fantastic ankle support. The heel is well supported for a normal arch via a removable insole. The arch feels stiff like there is some sort of shank, tho I cannot confirm as I am unwilling to destroy the boot to prove it. They are supported enough in the arch that I cannot bend them. The inner walls of the boot have a thin fabric liner that adds to the overall comfort and reduces uncomfortable rub. There is a leather liner at the top of the ankle that is also comfortable. If I had to find one criticism it would be that I would prefer a larger back strap to grab onto to help with donning the boot, but that is a personal preference. Overall a fantastic pair of boots at a bargain.

These are good looking leather work boots. They are well constructed and substantial with beautiful leather. The interior is not leather-lined but is heavy duty cloth. The non-slip soles are substantial. The boots should last a long time. With all these positives why only 3 stars? 1) These boots are extremely difficult to put on and take off, primarily because it is very difficult to loosen the laces at the tops of the boots enough to get a wide opening. The boots do not have speed lacing. It is difficult to tighten the bottom eyelets and to loosen the top eyelets without speed lacing on the upper 3 or 4 eyelets. That problem was made even worse by the way the boots were laced when received. They were laced with the laces feeding into the outside of the eyelet as you lace them up from the bottom. This meant there was nothing to pull on when I try to tighten the lacing on the lower part of the boot. Relacing the boots with the laces feeding into the inside of the eyelets, the usual way shoes are laced, helped quite a bit - so I recommend relacing the boots in this way. Speed-lacing eyelets would really help. Round shoe laces might help a little. Another thing that makes the boots difficult to put on is that the tab at the rear that you pull on to put on the boots is not large enough to insert a finger into - you can only grab the tab externally which doesn’t give you much grip. On all my other boots this tab is plenty large enough to insert one or two fingers. 2) It is difficult to get the correct size. The seller does not provide a size chart. Now that almost all shoes are made in China my experience is that US sizes vary widely but that Euro sizes are usually accurate. I wear EU size 43 and look for that size. Different manufacturers call EU 43 anything from US 8.5 to US 10, most commonly US 9. So I ordered US 9. The boots I received are labeled US 9, EU 42, which is somewhat unusual, and the boots are probably a half size too small. Difficult to tell without trying on the larger size. 3) The toe box fits fine and is not constricting but the heel area is loose and may chafe, hurt, and blister if the boots are worn on long hikes or walks. 4) I don’t have a job where I am required to wear work boots so for me these are chore and general purpose boots, which is just as well as these boots do not have the steel toe caps that my employer requires for work boots.

These boots look very nice except for one thing. The color is nice and evenly applied across both boots. They fit very well. I ordered an 11 and the fit fine. They are comfortable to walk in all day. I didn't have any rubbing or anything. When wearing them they feel well constructed and sturdy. Now for the bad part... there is a smell on these that will NOT go away. It's like an oil/grease factory smell. I've worn these several times, and the smell stays there. I'm not sure if it's the actual material or maybe a coating applied to the boots, but it will not go away. I've even left them out on the balcony to air for a few days. It might just be my pair, but it's something to be aware of. Other than the smell these boots are really great.
