Save all the money you spend on lesser lights and get this one. I have used lights professionally for the past 11 years, mostly on overnight shifts and have grown to love Surefire. I also trust Streamlight and will not fault anyone for choosing them especially considering the price differences, but my experiences are that Surefire products are almost always just a little better, (not necessarily brighter), than the other companies products and Surefire has come through several times when I have damaged a product easily and quickly replacing or repairing the damaged light. You do pay a premium but instead of spending $400.00 looking for the perfect light, just bite the bullet, get this one, and you'll forget about the money you paid for it three months down the line. Onto this light specifically... I always struggled to find the "perfect" light, one with a tactical style tail switch that only did on/off but also had a low intensity beam for long low light tasks. For how I use the light I need the ability for the tail switch activation to only go full bright without switching modes, and preferably without a click because I don't want to accidentally click the light on, just use momentary pressure. To date the closest light I found that met this criteria was the EDCL 1 and 2 from Surefire and they have served well for several years but this light by having a primary switch and a tactical switch seamlessly combines the tactical and every day use functionalities in one light. I also love that it is rechargeable. I was concerned about the max vision beam as I usually prefer a beam that is more biased toward throw vs flood but with 1,000 lumens, the max vision beam has been more than enough for distances at which I may be "speaking" with someone but has the added benefit of absolutely flooding a room or hallway. I have learned over the years that while having throw is good, (especially on rifles), most of the time once you get past 50 yards or so in the dark it is difficult to positively ID whether or not someone has something in their hands, determine exactly what they are doing etc. This light gets to those distances easily and has me re thinking my preference for flood vs throw, (in handheld use). The body is smaller and lighter than I though before handling the product, (a big plus), fits perfect in hand, and is super intuitive. The design makes it much easier and more comfortable to carry in the pocket, (flat vs round). I love that you can program both the tactical and primary switches easily and the added beacon feature is something I like to have on a light though not required. I said this light is just about perfect and it is but if I had one wish it would be that they replace the low 25 lumen setting with an ultra low 5 lumen setting. Surefire claim a 23 hour battery life on low which is great, but since there are already two other brightness modes, (600 and 1,000 lumens I believe), it would be nice to have the ultra low output for camping, reading, long term lighting etc. I also have a small Surefire Sidekick with a 5 lumen setting and use that to hang from the roof of a tent for night time illumination without worrying about battery life. 25 lumens and 23 hours is great but in my perfect world the lumen progression from the primary switch would be something like 5, 300, 1,000. I also wish you could disable the strobe function as I don't like it but I almost hesitate to mention it because Surefire have made it so that you have to quickly tap the tactical switch 3 times, insuring you are not very likely to accidentally engage it. Plus if I'm using the light switch and do accidentally engage it odds are I'm only taking quick one second "snapshots" and the strobe will not get in the way anyways. If it does, just click again. It is true you can program the strobe off but in return the tactical switch changes from momentary on to click on click off. For now this is a light I can use that will cover all my fighting uses, as well as all of my administrative uses, is perfect for carrying in uniform and out of uniform and is rechargeable. Buy once cry once. (and still carry a second light that runs on disposable cr123's as when you need it the most you probably forgot to charge it.)

It's pricey, but this is the perfect EDC light. Going on five years now with this in my pocket daily. The three modes are set up well. Low works great for being more discreet in indoor dark spaces or upclose in your lap sorts things. Medium is perfect for almost almost all other tasks. High is for when you wanna light up the whole back yard! Switching modes is easy and intuitive. The tactical momentary tail button is cool if you are into that sort of thing too. The Maxvision beam is very wide. It throws light everywhere. This is normally a good thing, but there are times when I wish the pattern was a bit tighter. The pocket clip works very well going into and out of the pocket. In the past I always liked a bezel down orientation, but on this light I carry it bezel up. This allows it to be clipped to bill of a hat. Very handy! Battery life has been excellent for me, but I rarely run it on high output. I charge it less than once a month. The battery life indicator isnt super well done though. It's lets you know when it's almost dead, but by then, the high setting has already refused to engage. Durability appears to be excellent. Mine has been dropped on concrete on many occasions. About a year ago though, it started acting funny. Modes wouldnt stay engaged, kinda had a mind of it's own. Then I noticed some moisture in the emitter. Sent it to SureFire. They fixed it for just the cost of sending it in. Replaced the entire bezel end too. SureFire does warranty the battery, but only for like two years. I know that eventually the battery will fail to hold a decent charge, but by then I will have gotten my money's worth. I will happily pay them to replace it though if they are willing.

This has a solid place in my EDC (everyday carry). I love this flashlight. No batteries to worry about. The built in lipo has great life. I use my light a lot. Not for long periods of time usually but for inspections, looking under the fridge for a lego, checking for burr during sharpening, etc... I hunted for a light with a good pocket clip for months. These typical bulky, round lights that hold an 18650 batteries or AAA have garbage pocket clips. The round shape to them is very unnatural and uncomfortable in the pocket. This seems nit picky when you haven’t carried the Stiletto. I had grown comfortable to these bulky, round lights because I hadn’t had anything else. After I broke another Nitecore, I had to hunt down a USA manufactured flashlight that changed the game for me. I didn’t want the same name everyone has but this is their house. Surefire just makes good stuff. It’s a name I was made familiar with during my time in the military. Literally, everyone in the military carries or has carried Surefire something. The idea of having something made in the USA with a massive manufacturing backing from a company that stands behind its military and law enforcement personnel brings a lot of pride and faith in the product. The form factor of this light is remarkable. It fits my pocket almost as good as it fits my hand. It’s extremely ergonomic in both. The pocket clip is tough as nails. I prefer a very tight pocket clip so I removed the clip, bent it a little more and reinstalled it for that super tight clip. I’ve been carrying this light EVERY SINGLE DAY. It’s fallen 2 stories now twice, been run over once and keeps coming back for more. I’ve only charged it twice since I bought it, amazingly. I don’t always use the max output though. When I do, it’s by the “tailcap”. Temporary light for a quick scan. Strobe to disorient the kids long enough for me to grab the last piece of pizza and get out of there! But low is my most used setting. Something that doesn’t blind you, doesn’t create a bright reflection. The user interface is so simple. Off the tail, it’s all temporary. Apply pressure, light turns on. Remove pressure, light turns off. It’s max lumens. Three quick taps and you go into strobe. Same technique as before. On the main panel, usb charging plug at the bottom with a waterproof rubber gasket. Above those, to the left is your mode button and to the right is the light activation. The body is a tough plastic of some sort and an aluminum head. After a few minutes on high, the aluminum can get very hot but they’ve put that warning on there so you don’t forget. It’s got decent throw and a wide, hard wall like we’re used to with Surefire lights. My only gripe is every once in awhile I’ll find the light is on in my pocket. But with its battery life, it doesn’t concern me. It uses the same micro USB that all of you android users are used to. I love this light. It’s a gem. If I manage to break it one day, at $100 I’ll buy two to replace it.

Surefire has always made excellent, durable products that are at times a little on the pricey side. I wanted a new pocket flashlight to replace my 300 lumen Surefire Sidekick I’ve been carrying in my pocket for years. It was compact and powerful but could get hot after a few minutes of use. The Sidekick performed well but the Stiletto Pro model can pump out 1000 lumens which was unthinkable for something this size a few years ago. It also fits easily into my pocket (is slim, about the size of a Leatherman multitool but thinner and shorter) and shares space with keys, small multi tool, and other EDC items. Having a pocket organizer keeps things organized and in easy reach. My use case is security and situational awareness at night time. While out in the dark (trick or treating, running, hiking), a flashlight is your best friend that can help you with the mundane (crossing city streets at night on foot and not getting run over by cars); and the more exciting wildlife encounters (saved me from an overly enthusiastic critter while out running). In the safety/defense use case, it also has a built in emergency strobe mode to scare off critters and give human attackers a good Pokémon seizure. Operationally, the light mode activation sequence can be programmed to start with High (1000 lumens) -> Medium (300) -> Low (25). There is a rear tactical switch to quickly activate the emergency strobe as well as additional features for button lockout. My original worries about accidentally switching it on in my pocket were unfounded as Surefire has engineered the switches with a higher activation pressure threshold. Another problem with flashlights of this illumination (power) class is heat dissipation. The sidekick would get quite hot after a few minutes of runtime in high mode. Have also purchased an older Guardian (800 lumens) that offers similar high power illumination but runs so hot that it burns your hand. The body of the Pro model is also machined from aluminum which seems to dissipate heat better. Having only acquired it recently and test run it for 5 minutes continuously, it appears to dissipate heat well (no burns yet). Overall, the Stiletto Pro meets all my humble functional requirements and I highly recommend it.

I went into this SKEPTICAL, I admit. Mostly due to negative reviews about heat, bad battery life, etc. But let me tell you, I am glad I took the risk. This thing is rock solid, built like an absolute tank. The weight isn't soo much that I'd call it "overkill" but it's definitely satisfying, and feels quality without question. The swappable pocket clip carries deep, and has great retention. The light has yet to get concerningly hot, or even uncomfortably warm after a few 30-60 minute runs. Also, the buttons are REALLY nice, not mushy or soft (I was concerned about in-pocket activation due to a review), but this takes an intentional strong press to activate which it responds to with a crips "click" sound and feel, no worries at all of it going off in my pocket given the weight of the button press, and the fact that it's recessed in the housing just adds to the safety (unless you wear the tightest skinny jeans made, or maybe received a defective unit). The lumen output exceeded my expectations (its rated at 1,000 but is brighter than EVERY other light I own at the 1,000 setting), which I assume to be a classic surefire move of UNDER selling their brightness to be conservative, rather than stretching the truth. I appreciate this more than expected. I also found the interface to be very easy to use, and the lockout simple yet effective. The beam pattern is crisp and clean, small spill, but very focused. The battery life has been as-advertised for me thus far, and something I have no complaints about. I really went into this cautiously, but immediately fell in love. Surefire has been consistently worth the $ in my experiences. 11/10, get one! like it soo much I'm considering the lower-end Stiletto Standard as a "travel light" given the lower cost and reduced weight.

I have an addiction. I'm a light junkie, and I'm constantly searching for the next best thing out there. I have included a light as an edc item for a long time, and I'm amazed at how often I need one. So I saw this one reviewed in a gun magazine a while back and decided to try it. So far for me this has been the best edc light I have ever owned! It's perfect pocket sized. The first time I saw the tiny lense I was a bit disappointed. I figured there was no way something as small as this could put out a lot of light or good quality light. Wrong on both accounts. The 650 lumen setting is nice and bright, has great coverage, and has full coverage every where it's pointed. The are no dark spots in the middle or anything. It's awesome! The fact that it's rechargeable and that it is fully programmable just add to its appeal. I like that it has three settings, and the strobe feature could come in handy as a non lethal deterrent in a bad situation. Nothing is perfect, so there is one thing I would like to see changed. The pocket clip angles the light so that it faces up. I personally would rather it was pointed down in my pocket, just so that it doesn't get scratched up, and so that it doesn't blind me should I accidentally lean against something that presses the on switch. This isn't a deal breaker or even a big deal. Just personal preference is all. I'm going to be buying more of these for my girls and my wife when I can. The price tag is a bit steep. For a quality light like this it is worth every penny. The best lights I own and use have been surefires. This one lives up to what I have come to expect from these guys.

This flashlight is one that you won't make a mistake purchasing. It is very versatile and perfect for everyday carry. I will list out the pos and negs of this light. Pro: - Slim/flat design makes it very comfortable to carry in your pocket - Light weight adds to comfort - Comfortable in hand while operating - Extremely sturdy clip that can also be used as a baseball cap clip for hands free use - Really powerful and bright high beam - Multiple intensity options x 3 (high, medium, and low) with programming - Two different selector switches (tailcap and one one the face of the light) - RECHARGABLE!!! - Surefire warranty Cons: - Not the best for range (will elaborate in summary) - Can turn on accidentally in pocket and cause burns to body or material if gone unnoticed - Aesthetically displeasing - Rechargeable only so you can't add batteries - Cannot be mounted (successfully/efficiently) to a firearm Summary: This flashlight is perfect for anyone looking to add to their EDC loadout. It fully satisfies the needs of a preparedness life style. You can use it in a multitude of environments and situations from LEO/Military to outdoor enthusiasm like dungeoneering, vampire hunting, fairy catching, etc. The fact that it's rechargeable means you save on money, but if you don't have access to power bank or a previously captured fairy from before, it's a paper weight because you can't replace the battery either (not good for zombocalypse). It's lightweight and sleek design makes it fit comfortably in your pocket while not in use, but is also easy to handle in hand. *This cannot be mounted to a firearm in a sensible and efficient manner* I needed to state this because some people think they need to be able to mount their pocket light onto their firearms thus making the light more ergonomic. Rather, your firearm should have it's own WML designated specifically for firearm use already installed separate from your pocket light. Speaking about pockets, be careful while it's in the pocket as it can be turned on accidentally and without notice this little light saber will burn a hole in your pocket or cause burns to your thigh, but with vigilance, or plasma rated pants, this can be avoided. The biggest issue I had with this light is the fact that it doesn't have much penetration. It's very bright and has a very large field of vision which is excellent for very close and encased environments, but in the wilderness or even suburbs the beam doesn't extend much further than roughly 50ft. That can be a problem if its the only light you have on you and you need to see at further distances or through the thick of trees, ghouls, brush, etc. Considering its effectiveness indoors, clearing rooms, conduction searches, or just flat out flashing a light on your baby just to make sure that she isn't blue in a car or at home will serve you well with the option to use the less vibrant Kiss You Softly with LED setting (low), He Does it Cause He Loves Me setting (medium), or the Melt Your Face Off, or MYFO setting (higher than Willie). If your making a traffic stop and need a minimal brightness to read licenses or registrations without blinding grandma you have the option to use Kiss You Softly (low) and can easily (if programmed correctly) be switched to MYFO beam that serves very well with disorienting people up close for when she decides to pull out her S&W Python because she didn't know you were a real cop. In summation, this is a practical light for everyday use and you get your money's worth.
