  • Sets the standard for weapon lights
Color: Black Style: Rail-Lock Mount Pattern Name: WeaponLight
Was worried that I would be buying a clone becausethe price was $100 less than everywhere else, but I got an authentic Surefire. It's bright, works and fits perfectly. Surefire sets the standard for quality and it lives up to the hype. I like the intuitive functioning of the switch press for momentary and up/down for constant, it's WAY better than Streamlight. You get what you pay for, love it so much I purchased a second one for my rifle. ... show more

  • Exceptional Light
Color: Black Style: Rail-Lock Mount Pattern Name: WeaponLight
This is a very bright light that just feels and feels like solid quality. I have it mounted on a Glock 17 and it fits perfectly. Pros: Solid, quality construction Metal housing Lightweight Bright Easy to operate Easy to install/remove Balance It just feels like a solid light, and even looking at it in the package you could tell it would be a quality product. The aluminum body is strong and makes the whole unit lightweight. This light is very bright and is pretty easy to turn on with one finger. Momentary on is accomplished by pushing the switch forwards (towards the lens) and is easily accomplished with an outstretched finger without changing grip. Constant on requires spinning the switch clockwise OR counterclockwise. I was able to do this with the same single finger as momentary on. Using the lever lock, it's easy and quick to install and remove the light. Just pull down on the lever and slide it on/off. The other mounting method, the Rail-Lock, is also easy to install. The Rail-Lock is similar to the lever lock in that it locks into a rail slot but you need to use an allen wrench to tighten a sort of friction lock against the weapon. Both are very solid mounting options though. This light doesn't weigh much, 4 ounces according to SureFire, but it does help balance the weapon in hand. Cons: No light lockout Changing batteries requires removing the unit from the weapon No strobe Expensive There is no lockout on the light, so it is possible that the light could get turned on accidentally in a weapons case or bag. Changing the battery does require removal of the light from the weapon. On a pistol it would most likely be backed up to the trigger guard, and on a rifle the battery door opens towards the rail and thus cannot open far enough to remove the battery. If you install this light on a rail riser, you may be able to open the door without removing the unit. However, as I said above, it's very easy to install and remove the unit so this is not too much of a problem. This unit does not have strobe, it wasn't advertised to have it but some of the other light in this range to have that feature. It is an expensive light for just being a light. However, for the brightness and quality of the unit I would say it is justified. Recommendations: It's an excellent light. There are brighter ones, and cheaper ones. This is the first weapon light I have used, so I cannot compare to others. However, recognizing the quality in this unit I would definitely recommend this light to others looking for one. ... show more

  • As expected - great quality, easy to mount, and BRIGHT!
Color: Black Style: Rail-Lock Mount Pattern Name: WeaponLight
The previous Surefire light (x300) was a very high-quality light, as you can see by the many high reviews. This one (Surefire x300 Ultra) is basically the same, but MUCH brighter. (besides the slight bevels on the end of the light, which look cool, but do nothing that I can tell). Pros: -incredibly sturdy feel -easy to mount -easy to install/replace batteries -comes with the 2 required batteries -SO bright (500 lumens vs the previous 170) -price - though $299 seems a pretty hefty price for a light, when you consider the previous version (170 lumens) is $275, I'd consider paying only an additional $24 dollars for 500 lumens to be a great deal. -ambidextrous (can use with right or left hand easily as it has a switch on both sides) -still fits in the same holster as the x300 Cons: -price - yes, I know I put this in the pros too, but - it is still $300 for a light. Do I regret paying it for such a sturdy, bright, great light? Absolutely not. Side note: I read some online questions similar to: "Is it so bright it blinds you when bouncing off a nearby wall?"...etc. This isn't a problem. While it IS incredibly bright, at no time did I feel its bounced light caused any issues. ... show more

  • Sets a new standard in weapon light technology.
Color: Black Style: Rail-Lock Mount Pattern Name: WeaponLight
When first using this light around other tac lights, it is obvious that this is the pinnacle of what is currently available. The light itself is rugged and very well constructed. Mounting is easy, and depending on the weapon it is being mounted to, fit can be enhanced by installing either the universal bar or picatinny bar. With the picatinny bar installed the light locks up like a bank vault on my SP-01. The beam is very bright and defined. It has a large amount of peripheral 'splash' that allows the user to illuminate an entire room in one burst or allows the user to illuminate a target without the danger of muzzling whatever is down range. The hot spot of the beam is extremely intense and will not only give you a positive ID of your target but will undoubtedly blind them as well. This is far and away the most intense weapon light I have ever used even when compared to previous Surefire products I have owned [x400]. If you need a weapon light buy this and you will not be disappointed!!! Also, another promising weapon light with a reduced lumen output is the INFORCE APL.It has very similar characteristics to the X300 Ultra, but with extremely easy to use paddle switches and light distribution. It has nowhere near the 'horsepower' that the X300 Ultra has, but is a very capable weapon light. ... show more

  • Not fit for purpose
Color: Black Style: Rail-Lock Mount Pattern Name: WeaponLight
The product was delivered on time and well packaged. And that was the only good part. For a brand name that is the industry standard I was extremely disappointed that it did not allow for an easy fitting or quick attach/detachment to ANY of my gear. I contacted the manufacturer who told me that “fitting is not guaranteed”. Other reviewers of this product listed the same issues and their resolution involved hand trimming the rail system. I believe the manufacturer addressed this issue with the B model but provided no solutions for the A model which is very disappointing because all it required was a replacement of the battery cap to allow for more fitting tolerance. ... show more
