I have an older air fry that I seldom use because it’s getting too heavy for me to move. I have to store it when not in use. The idea of a lightweight air fryer that you can use to bake, roast and broil got me excited to give it a try. The air fryer is only a little over 5 lbs. It truly is lightweight and easy to carry and move. Because it's oblong rather than square, it’s more compact. It also has a place to wrap the cord in the back. No loose cord to deal with. Plus, it doubles as a handle! I haven’t looked at air fryers in years and had no idea they have ones with a see-through window and a light. I knew I'd use this one more often when I could check on the food without pulling out the basket. The light is sufficient in most cases to gauge how the cooking is progressing. I have used it for chicken dishes and frozen items like tater tots. Everything has turned out wonderfully. I’ve used the air fryer and the bake settings. I like the touchscreen controls, except when you turn it on, the cooking options have preset temps and times you need to change. I’m unsure of the presets' advantage since I’ve had to change them every time. You can change the temp in 5° increments up to a max of 400°. The baking tray is solidly made and has rubber on sections at the edges to protect the inside of the fryer and give it a snug fit. It has a non-stick finish that makes cleanup very easy. You can put it in the dishwasher, but I haven’t done that yet. The basket was also easy to clean. The instructions constantly remind you to wear gloves when removing the basket because the handle will get hot. I shouldn’t have tempted fate, but I did, and the handle wasn’t hot at all. So, I’m guessing a customer did something they shouldn’t, and the lawyers made them put it on every page. A slight annoyance when reading the instructions. I found the air fryer heated quickly, and the signal to indicate it was time to shake the basket or the end of the selected cooking time was sufficiently loud to hear from a nearby room. I enjoyed not having to set a separate timer because the volume is too low. This is a fantastic air fryer that doubles as a small oven. It has a high-end look to it with lots of versatility. I will be using this much more than I thought I would now that I’ve experienced how easy it is to use and gotten incredible results to boot! ... show more

Prior to the arrival of this little air fryer, I think I was one of the last people to NOT have one - everyone I know has one and can't live without them apparently. I've got a convection oven and honestly, given the price point of all the other air fryers on the market, I really didn't see why I needed one. I also have a really small kitchen which added to my disinclination to obtain yet another kitchen appliance.... however, the price point, features and overall compact size of this air fryer finally convinced me to make the leap and give it a try. Glad I did! I'm a huge fan of the compact size, ease of use and clean up, and the quality of the output. I'm actually storing this downstairs - it's small and lightweight and effortless to bring upstairs into the kitchen to use, which I think speaks volumes about its size and weight. I really like the simple design: the touchscreen LED panel is easy to see and I like the preset options and ability to change the temp and time using the + / - buttons. I also really like being able to turn on the inside light to see how things are coming along in the basket. I've now used the air fryer, fries, bake and meat preset features and have been so pleased with the results that I'm opting to use this product over my convection oven. It heats up way more quickly and when needed, crisps things up so nicely! Couldn't be happier with the end results! The tray inside the basket fits snuggly - easy to insert and remove, and both the tray (which you can throw in the dishwasher - yay!) and basket clean up easily. The instructions must have said 1,000 times not to touch the handle of the basket because its hot - how odd to design a product whose most used feature will be too hot to touch?!? While I keep a hot pad on hand, the handle hasn't gotten hot at all so guess its a liability disclaimer thing.... Initially, pulling the basket in and out caused the entire unit to shift off balance. If the rubber feet on the bottom of the unit didn't catch properly, it would slide on the countertop, and if they did catch, then the front would lift up. I was having to hold the unit in place while I pushed/pulled the basket. Thankfully, with repeated use the basket is now sliding in and out more easily and I'm not having to hold it in place nearly as often - just occasionally. That's my only "nit" about this product. That may work itself out entirely, and is not significant enough to affect my rating given how quickly it seems to be resolving itself. On the subject of the tray/basket: there is just one tray that fits at the bottom of the basket - not multiple trays - so you are limited to that cooking surface only. For me, that's not an issue as I embrace simplicity and am usually not cooking for more than one or two people - just something to consider. I've always had good luck with Sur La Table products and have high hopes of this air fryer hanging in there over the long haul - for the time being, I am thoroughly sold on this product - and such a great price point! This has been an all-in-one for my household. We have made breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, and dessert in here! This works for almost anything you would want it to! It only goes up to 400 degrees, so that's the only thing that limits this unit. Other than that, you could have endless possibilities to make things. It cleans well and stores nicely.
