I purchased an outdoor rattan table and chair set a few years ago and the chair arms have just began unraveling and pieces breaking off due to being outside in the sun 24/7. I was planning to just throw it all away and purchase a new set until I ran across this 230 foot roll of replacement rattan in my Vine product offers. I didn't even know they made replacement rattan, so I decided to try it out and see if I could re-weave my chairs. When I received it, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it is exactly the same color, size and striped design as the rattan that is already on my set. Although I haven't begun to re-weave my chairs yet, I did test it out and it seems to be super sturdy, but still flexible enough to very easily weave in and out of my chairs without the replacement rattan falling apart. I read a few reviews on this product and didn't realize that I would need this until I found it on Amazon! Being in AZ, the weather is HOT and DRY, and everything and anything left outside is typically destroyed within a couple of summers...furniture is no exception. Luckily, this plastic wicker material is one of the only ones that can actually withstand the heat year over year. I noticed that one of my chairs had the metal exposed, and thought it needed to be repaired. I looked up a video on Youtube on how to repair it, and it seemed easy enough. You pull out the section that's torn on one side, cut it with sharp scissors to where the cut would be under the top weave, then cut a long enough piece to weave it in, and glue it to the existing piece. After a few minutes, after it's dry, you weave it in, and there you go! I went outside to repair my chair, but noticed it wasn't torn, but needed to be moved over a little bit...figures! So, when I need it, I have a very long, very black material ready to be woven in, to keep my furniture looking new. The color matches perfectly, you get a lot for many repairs to come, and seems easy enough to use. Pro Tip: Make sure you measure the width of your material to make sure this is the correct one, and prevent unnecessary returns. ... show more

I’m very sorry the picture isn’t glamorous, I was having a hard time finding a seat material for ghese chairs that my kids wouldn’t ruin. This plastic wicker caning is eve throughout. It doesn’t stretch, and so far the color works in the sun (but it hasn’t been very long. Smooth and easy to work with. This kit comes with the replacement strips only. It is a dark brown and It matches almost perfectly to my furniture that needs repair. The color and texture is nearly the same. We’re talking manual dexterity that would make a neurosurgeon sweat. The material itself is solid—UV-resistant, waterproof, and surprisingly flexible, which helped when I was mid-weave wondering if I’d accidentally signed up for a basket-making competition.
