Works well. I'm getting old and I needed a winch of some sort to pull ropes used to hang big heavy ladders on my ceiling in the garage. 14' ceiling, the rope is on a 2:1 pulley system so I had to pull 28'. I suppose I could of removed the 2:1 pulley system but then lowering, I'd have a lot of weight to contend with. Manual lowering, is not a issue. It was pulling it up. So... I figured the solution was a powered capstan. This one fit the bill. I'd of preferred one that was 120VAC but, Lithium batteries can last a very long time so, I thought I'd give it a shot. Once I 'got organized' it was near effortless. The strap under my feet, the ropes (there are two) wrapped around the capstan five times. Power on, squeeze the trigger, add a little tension on the rope as it exits the capstan and then just keep minimal tension on the ropes to ensure the friction pulls them. 95% less effort. Good deal! I wish it had a 'hanging ring' on the opposite end of the hooks. Before I got it, I did reach out the company 'Super Handy' with questions and sadly, the response from them was 'weak'. So if a problem arises, I'm not sure how good the support will be.

Well it works but there is a significant design flaw in the metal rope guide block at the top of the spool. Specially the back of this block is tapered exactly as it should be but the front of it is square and very sharp which cut & destroyed not only the rope that came with it but also my new & 200ft rope i bought for it. If the rope has pressure on it and it happens to go backwards even the slightest bit then it automatically cuts the rope. I could easily fix this but if i take it off to bevel the front edge then Im sure i will void the warranty. Run time isnt great but with an extra battery one could get good use out of this little unit but that guide block design is a deal killer for me so this thing is gonna have to be returned because I'll go broke replacing rope for it.

This is a wonderful machine! It is a real game changer for moving logs after bucking downed trees. I've been pulling pretty large logs out of a stream and over a steep bank, and it has done an amazing job. I have a winch on my Gator, but it isn't as strong or easy to use. Recently, I inadvertently pulled a metal ratchet into the winch bending one of the hooks, and SuperHandy sent me replacements for free. I highly recommend this winch and this company.

I have a very first-world problem: getting airplanes in and out of hangars. Hangars are built slightly above the surrounding ramp, to avoid flooding, That means airplanes have to go up a slope to get them into the hangar. Even very small airplanes weigh a lot more than their pilots, and they can be physically impossible to get in. Anchor the Superhandy to the back wall of the hangar, connect the pulling end of the rope to the tail hook on the airplane and bring the other end out in front of the plane, where the pilot has the towbar/steering tiller connected to the nosewheel, turn on the Superhandy and guide the airplane backwards by pulling gently on the free end of the rope. It actually requires at least three hands, but it doesn't require several friends on the offensive line of the local football team. The Superhandy is also cheaper, by a factor of ten or more, than any of the bespoke airplane movers. What's not to like?

very strong pulled many logs small trees battery does die after about 3 100ft pulls but does the job. get another battery if needed to use it for multiple hours

Works great! Tracks well, very easy setup, extremely portable. Worked well with several other lines I’ve tried. A bit slow, which can be a good thing, but a high gear would be a good option. And the line is a bit stiff - but good and long.
