A steel step drill bit is recommended for drilling holes in the impeller blades. The discharge chute and its mounting bracket in must be removed to reach the impeller blades. When adjusting the rubber broom, be sure to disconnect the spark plug and rotate the impeller to make sure the rubber clears the metal housing.
