  • Nice cover but.....waterproof ?
Nice heavy duty cover but......I am using it to cover my deck for the winter. The description said waterproof. It may have been waterproof initially but after a few severe winter storms I would use the word water resistant instead. Some water is getting thru the cover and I've also noticed a few small holes developing probably from the ice that was over the cover at times. Again if your not dealing with severe weather and you don't need it to be absolutely waterproof this would still be a nice cover. If you want something that is absolutely waterproof in severe weather maybe another, probably more expensive choice, would be better. ... show more

  • Worked Perfect
We bought this tarp to cover our 20ft pontoon boat for the winter. We live in the UP in Michigan and our winters can get tough. This winter, the tarp had its work cut out for it. This winter (2013-2014) the UP had its worst winter in 20 years and this tarp held strong through the winds and the negative temperatures. I was very impressed that it held up. We have not noticed any grommets that have ripped. There are no tears. It looks the same as it did the day we put it on the boat. Very happy with my purchase. UPDATE: It’s 2019 and we are still using this tarp to cover our pontoon in the winter. We have used it 6 winters and there are a couple small rips but for enduring 6 winters in the UP of Michigan that is fantastic. Also, to get the boat shrink wrapped would have cost us $10 per foot so $200 per year. We have saved over $1,000 so far by purchasing this tarp. We will be using the tarp this winter so the savings just keeps adding up! ... show more

  • Good hay tarp
I have been using this brand of tarp to cover my horse's hay for a few years now. I order a new one every year because the sun is harsh in the summer and the winters can be windy/wet here in Idaho. These tarps take a beating and for the price I like to just get a new one every year, it's cheaper than buying more hay. I appreciate the range of sizes. ... show more

  • heavy duty but barely lasted 2 years in mild santa cruz ca climate.
It is made heavy duty but the brown is a bad color as the sun gets it hot and it deteriorated within 1.5 years and started to get thin and the small tears at peak of canopy area. Then had a light wind and it just sheaded at 2 years old. This is my second brown one and that first one did the same thing. Just barely 2 years out of either one. I previously had some heavy white canopies from OSH hardware. I think they were motoshade brand that came with a car canopy and used two of them together to cover the same area that i made a 3 car tent garage from. They lasted about 7 years. So I am trying a 40x20 white one from HD this time but it seems to be about 2/3 the weight of this brown one. And cost $120. It has the same stats but is lighter in weight. Says heavy duty and same weave and thickness. But I am hoping it reflects the suns damaging rays beter. ... show more

  • lasted about 17 months, installed over carport
Not sure I got my $$$ worth, it started tearing within 1 year, hubby was able to patch and pull it a bit to get a little more life. But now it is just worthless. So paid about $9 per month for it's use. Thought it should last at least 2 years in So Cal.

  • Nice and heavy
We used this tarp as a cover for the metal pipe carport frame that protects our boat from the harsh Florida weather. It provides great shade and reduces the temperature underneath. The gray and brown color is much less obtrusive than the common blue tarps that we often see in our area. Unfortunately, it lasted only about a year before it began to wear through along the apex. To be fair, we get a lot of wind in our area and it is held in place with bungies, which may allow more movement (and resulting wear) than regular rope. Overall, we are happy with the tarp and have purchased another. ... show more

  • Forget the blue poly tarp
Having used a variety of tarps to cover my boat for the winter in years past, I am now absolutely sold on this tarp. With lightweight blue poly tarps, I have worried all winter, just waiting for the storm that would shred it and fill the boat with snow. Not worries with this one. We had a freak 20" snow storm here in October 2011 - wet heavy stuff combined with very high gusting winds. This tarp hardly even moved in the wind - its that heavy duty. The grommets are well reinforced so you can really apply pressure with a piece of cord to get the right tension - and not worry about ripping the grommet out. ... show more

  • Heavy duty, true to size, good for covering trailer
Very heavy weight, corner grommets heavily reinforced, good for covering trailer. True to size, unlike cheap tarps which can run short. So far the fall winds haven't shifted it at all. I will update in the spring to let everyone know how it stood up to a N.MN winter. I've purchased cheap tarps in the past, but the winds promptly shred them and rip out the grommets. ... show more
