I upgraded from the old SunTouch thermostat in a bathroom floor situation as I wanted something wi-fi and smart. This fits the bill. It can automatically adjust to outdoor weather temps, auto-suspending when it’s warm outside. Remote control from the app is pretty good. Haven’t used it much with Alexa but works fine. A cheaper price and slightly better interface would have earned it that fifth star, but still highly recommended. ... show more

    • Lousy support, won't stay connected to wireless
I bought this unit wanting to replace an older Sunstat unit that did not connect to the internet. I wanted the ability to better schedule my floor heating, as well as keep proper time. The older unit would loose hours on its clock each month, so I would constantly have to reset it. This unit arrived and never lived up to it's promise. Every minute, the unit would disconnect from the wireless network, and search out a new wireless IP, and reconnect. Because of this, I've never been able to use the "smart" features of this device, because it doesn't stay reliably connected to the internet. I contacted tech support the first day I owned this, and I was told I might need to wait a week, because their backend servers are busy and can't support new clients. After that first week, I called back, and it turned out the device needs to connect to it's own DNS servers, not the ones specified by my home network. I lost a week in support waiting for this detail. Once I got connected, the wifi flapping started. I contacted their support, and they hadn't seen this before, so they sent me a new unit. The new unit did the same thing. They "escalated" the issue, and after weeks of back and forth, told me that the issue was my home router without any evidence to support it, and told me to buy a new router. They also wanted me to pay to ship back both units to them, when their devices are defective. As an IT professional with 20+ years in cyber security and network engineering, I can safely say that the problem is not my home network.     • Love the integration with Alexa
The fact that it integrates with Alexa is a huge selling point. Setup was actually pretty easy and I did not have the connectivity issues that someone else seems to have had. I would recommend this as a smart floor heating solution.
