The media could not be loaded. I am somewhat pleased with the outdoor fire pit ring, and here is why. I ordered this ring as I always wanted to build a large fire pit, and this ring was a perfect size. The ring had a few nicks which I know would create rust if I don't take care of it, and the ring was also slightly not leveled when assembled. I sprayed a high heat rust paint on the ring to protect it. The ring's inside diameter is 40", and the outside of the ring lip is 46". With the trapezoidal blocks, the outside diameter is 55". For each level of the fire pit, I used 15 bricks, making it a total height of 16 inches. After laying out all of the bricks and adding some construction glue to hold the bricks, I added the ring to the top, and after two nights of rain, I began to see rust. The rust before even using it was the biggest con of this product. However, I re spray painted the areas that appeared to be rusting, and I have not seen any rust since. Overall, the ring has a good weight, looks great on the fire pit, and helped build my fire pit. The rust is a concern, but I still don't see any rust. After a week, I still don't see any rust after retreating with the high heat rust paint. The size is excellent and is working well so far. Therefore I rate this product four out of five stars. ... show more

Like many of the other reviews on here I had the problem with rust. I caught it right away but it wasnโ€™t outside for more than a week before the edges began to rust. I recommend spray painting it with rust-oleum high heat 1200 degree flat black (not the automotive one) before you install it in your fire pit. Easy to assembly and measurements were correct. Kind of flimsy but comes with thickness of metal.@ Recommend metal treatment for weather. Item began to rust 2 weeks after 2 fires. Works fine though.

The ring appears very sturdy and very simple to assemble. It will do what we want. A little disappointed that there are multiple spots showing the metal and I need to go back and spray black high temp paint. Great construction, seems very durable. Just be aware the size might not be exactly as advertised. We ordered the 39" diameter and had already started constructing our pit. I made ours 39.5" figuring better safe to leave a little extra room, and when it arrived I would say the diameter was closer to 40" and it took some finagling to get it into the already mortared pit. We built this a week ago and love it. We bought wall blocks from home depot that were 11 inches x 6.75 by 4 inches high. We had to knock the lip off the back so they would stack without being terraced. It took 13 blocks per row. Our only issue was that the pit lip was bent a little but a rubber mallet fixed it. ... show more

I found instructions from a YOUTUBE video on how to make a "smokeless" firepit. I cut 1.5" holes near the top, spaced 1,5" apart. The Ring is supported about 1" off the patio pavers to introduce air below the firewood. There's also space along the sidewalls for air to pass through the holes I cut. It works great. ... show more
