All the folks saying that the bar gets stuck and doesn’t move freely Clearly did not read and follow the directions…… If you put the included lubricant on a paper towel and evenly rub it on the guide rods the thing runs smoother that silk…..and you don’t need lots of it, just a nice evrn layer and it moves freely. I was able to assemble this thing in just 1 hour by myself with a socket wrench. The only issue I had was that they forgot to include the 2 weight holders that mount on the back…… After a 10 minute call with what was an actual American who spoke clear English I had them all n the mail on the way to my house. If you want a smith machine that works with your 1” weights and actually WORKS for half the price of other ones , just buy it. ... show more

First, the package arrived damaged and the Weight Plate Holders and Weight Plate Holder Sleeves were missing. But to make matters worse the actual machine doesn't function properly. I spent hours assembling it just to find out that the barbell doesn't glide smoothly at all. Complete waste of time. I didn't notice it before, but other Smith Machines have cylinder/round glide rods. This one has cube/square glide rods and they constantly catch—terrible design. You can't even use it. Why would they make it like this? You get what you pay for, I guess... But in that case, this is one expensive giant pullup bar when I wanted a Smith Machine. Now I have to go through the hassle of returning it. ... show more

Assembly was easy, but I was missing the weight post for weight plates. I had to jump through a couple of rings to prove purchase before getting them sent out, so there was a delay. Once that was straightened out, I had a full product. I think the product is best if you are able to bolt down to the floor. I live in an apartment so I am unable to do this at this time. This makes it difficult to do place your feet out and lean against the bar to do smith hack squats without the machine tipping over. Aside from that, the machine feels great for all other smith machine movements. I used a lubricant along the guide rails and wiped them down thoroughly which made all the difference in the world. Adding this product to my home gym assisted in making my home gym feel like a commercial grade gym adding variety to my home workouts. The only other recommendation I would have for this machine is to add spotter arms for the free rack portion that fit this machine. ... show more

Well, the product works. Its size fits my basement well and it works. But the parts should be shipped in multiple boxes. there is no reason for this to be shipped in one large box. It is not fair to the amazon drivers to carry this to and from their trucks. Especially if they have stairs to go through. I Will give 5 star for the product itself but i would not have ordered this if i knew how it would be shipped.     • Good assembly instructions, solid bare-bones home smith machine for beginner/intermediate lifter

I've assembled several pieces of home gym equipment over the past couple of years, and this one was the best to assemble by far. I did it by myself in a couple of hours, and it would have been even easier had I had another set of hands to help (there are some awkward steps that would be easier with 2 people, but its certainly doable with just one person). The instructions are great and the hardware is laid out and labelled by step #, which makes assembly a breeze and actually quite enjoyable if you like that sort of thing. The machine itself is better quality than I was expecting, and it looks nice. It was pretty well-packed, but the package was a bit beat up and there were some cosmetic imperfections due to shipping, but no damage that cause it to be unusable. Immediately upon assembly I was disappointed with the up/down sliding action, but I re-tightened all of the bolts and greased the shiny uprights and now it's smooth as butter. As long as you don't angle one side of the bar higher than the other, it glides up and down without any issues and it's easy to rack/re-rerack. My machine seems pretty stable and there is hardly any wobble at all, although I suspect if you lifted really heavy and loaded it anywhere near capacity it would probably wobble if you started pushing on the sides. It's more stable than I was expecting it to be. If you are looking for a very simple smith machine to help with your workout and you aren't going to be lifting super heavy, this is a good budget option that has a relatively small footprint in the home gym. I can't speak to adding accessories to it as that's not something I researched or plan to do. My one complaint is that the knurling on the bar isn't aggressive (it's not really knurling at all, but some small diamond-shaped indentions, which look nice but don't really do anything), so if your hands are sweaty it's harder to twist and re-rack. ... show more
