I ordered the Sunjoy Atticus Wood Burning Fireplace and was a little hesitant purchasing such a large item via Amazon sight unseen but couldn't be happier with my purchase. It really does look better in person than in the pictures. It is very classy. After seeing outdoor fireplaces at landscaping centers and their cost of at least 2x this product this seems like a good value. The product should hold up for many years as it is built very well. It arrived very well packaged and protected ... I mean really well packaged! The assembly is very straight forward as there are very few actual parts to this product. There are only 6 steps and if you can turn a screwdriver then you can assemble this. I would highly recommend having another able bodied adult to move it to its final destination as it is heavy. I look forward to using this quite a bit! ... show more

I've never written a review before, let me say, that this fireplace met all of our expectations. First, the packaging is extremely well done, that being said, take your time- definitely have the fireplace near where you will build it out, very heavy!! Unpacking took longer than putting it together. We were quoted $8,000 for a real stone fireplace...this does the job and didn't break the bank, nice looking and easy to clean. We had no issues with any parts broken or bent ( again, take your time unpacking). It is aesthetically pleasing and good warmth. We are looking into some kind of cover to make sure it lasts a long time in our backyard. Enjoy! ... show more

Works great. Easy to assemble. Nice and sturdy. Delivery took a while, but that is to be expected with such a large item. For assembly, they mark each piece with a sticker. I wish the stickers were easier to get off (some were on the front of pieces and visible after assembly - until we scratched them off). But, that's really a non-issue and we still love the fireplace. ... show more

I would stay away from this fireplace. Mine arrived scratched, with a small crack, and missing the door hook. Upon filing a warranty claim with Sunjoy I have not heard back from them in over 2 weeks. The first fire we had was very nice, until the logs stored under the unit started to smolder and burn. Luckily we were paying close attention and avoided the disaster that could have been. Amazon has graciously agreed to return the item even though I was a few days past my return date. Just 1 day after setup the table tops that were scratched during shipping has started to rust without any precipitation. I would not purchase this product as I don't think it is safe or that the life expectancy of the unit is worth the price; not to mention Sunjoy will not be there when a problem arises. This is a very nice piece, a tad disappointed in the mortar used around the hinges if the doors but overall nice. My husband and I put it together on our new upper deck overlooking the creek. It says not to use it on a wood deck but we will put step concrete pavers in the opening under the firebox and use a fire rug in front of it so I am sure it will be fine. I found a good cover for it in Amazon, (Classic Accessories Veranda Water-Resistant 86 Inch Center Island BBQ Grill Head Cover) it fits the dimensions of a island grill it fits well, using a grill . My husband I put it together out on the deck, I am 65 and was able to lift my half but wouldn't recommend it for most females unless they are in good shape. Easy to assemble, only 8 screws. I am going to spray it with sealer to protect it from rust etc. The grate will probably need replacing after a couple years, not too heavy guage of iron. I will have to say the "shipping company CEVA was the worst part of the whole thing. Misinformation on their site lead us to believe it would be delivered at a certain date. Made so many calls to the company with either no answer of hang ups after sitting in hold 30mins. I called Amazon after finally getting a hold of CEVA that claimed they had no idea how that delivery date and time got on their site. Amazon tracking claimed they would call us to set up a date but they never did. They finally set the date for the next date for a 3rd party to deliver it. That delivery company was right on schedule, very nice and polite and I would definitely recommend them but not the shipping company CEVA! ... show more

    • Superbly built and designed Sunjoy outdoor fireplace
We wanted to upgrade our patio fireplace but wanted to avoid having to build a permanent unit. This was a perfect choice. The packaging was daunting: 500+ pounds! Like moving a refrigerator down the hill to our walkout. But shipped in a metal cage that provided impeccable protection for the contents. Only about 7 pieces to stack and dovetail together seamlessly. Definitely a two person job! Completed in about 30 minutes. It's aesthetically pleasing, And practically designed with a pull-out tray to make for easy disposal of ashes. And the racks all along the base are both attractive and allow for ready reloading of sticks of wood to keep your fire blazing. Great buy. Highly recommended. ... show more

This is a five star product and I love it except it all was not there. The fire poker was not in the box and it is imposable to get a hold of anyone for help. I love the fireplace I just want the piece that they shorted me.

Be warned THE BOX IS EXTREMELY LARGE & HEAVY but once you get passed that, it’s SO EASY TO PUT TOGETHER. There’s a YouTube video that shows you how. I get compliments whenever we have guests over.
