This gazebo is beautiful, extremely strong and well designed. But definitely not for amateurs to assemble. I am a high-level home improvement guy, and I brought in a skilled handyman to put this together. Between us, we had all the necessary tools and three different sizes of ladders, and lots of experience assembling complex structures. And that's what you need. Most of the hundreds of screws for assembly have hex heads. Yes, you can use the little wrenches that come with the kit. But you really need a pair of drivers to speed the work and get the torque right. And it takes two strong people to put it all together. ... show more

Gazebo arrived early, and was a breeze to assemble. Was able to do myself in about 6 hours. Well packaged and easy to follow instructions. Organization is key. Longest part of assembly was laying out on patio, and ensuring square. Posts have about 9/16 hole bore in base. Was able to drill and install 3' rebar dowels in patio once layout was chalked. This allowed each pist to be stood up individually, making it a much simpler one person job. Cross members could be assembled and pinned in place, rather than having to stand up sectionals. Assembly of metal skeleton frame for roof panels is tedious, going up and down ladder continuously, and easiest with a few ladders. Panels were a breeze. Having everything laid out is key, as well as going through instructions completely before start. Have since added attached torches and solar powered canopy light. Posts are assembled wood, and not solid. Prevents cracking, and warping - plus makes manageable to lift. Much easier with impact driver. Has already weathered heavy rains and winds with no issues. I have to admit that I was a little skeptical about a prefab product like this. As it turns out, my hesitation was unwarranted. The product arrived on the date that it was supposed to arrive, it was well packaged, and the shippers placed it where I needed it placed. It took two guys most of a day to put it together, but the instructions were fairly easy to follow, and everything fit together as it was supposed to. There were no missing or broken pieces, so I did not need to deal with their customer service department. The finished product is absolutely stunning, and exceeded all of my expectations. The wood is all high quality, arrow straight, and nicely finished. The metal parts are solid, sturdy, and very nicely finished. I truly love this gazebo, and would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their back yard. ... show more

This is a major project to do your self. I eventually had four other people besides myself to construct this. It comes on a long narrow pallet and weighs over 650 pounds. The truck driver rolled the pallet on a jack to behind the security fence--thank God! We started by assembling the wooden posts and upper frame (also wood). I let go of my post to help someone else and the thing fell down. It broke 4 boards. I called Amazon to get replacements but all they could offer was to return it and give a refund, since there were no more in stock. I decided to mill the replacement boards myself. I bought 3 clear cedar 1"X6"X8' boards at Home Depot at an additional cost of $78. I brought them home and sawed the joints and new mounting holes. So, we were behind one day. (Note: China must have true 1" lumber, which we do not, so I had to adjust the joints to fit smoothly.) The rest of the build went without issue. We worked about 4 hours a day (since were all over retirement age). We completed the project in four days. Lots of screws and bolts!!! I would advise using power tools. After it was finished we had winds in our area 30-40 mph with gusts around 50 mph. We watched it very carefully, since we did not yet have it anchored to the patio. It survived well. However, the wind did raise the metal panels at the joints just slightly. And I would recommend using screws at the top of the first section of metal panels. They give you plastic plugs to join the panels together, but they are not strong enough for wind prone areas. Our patio is big (25' deep by over 50' wide), and it slopes to allow for rain runoff. You may notice that some of the holes do not line up perfectly because of the slope. We got them all in, but it took a little finesse. You also may notice that the posts have a slight lean because of that slope as well. Overall, it is a wonderful gazebo and should last several generations. ... show more

I did a lot of searching online, reading reviews and watching videos. Finally decided on this one and it was the right choice. It really is the best value for the money. I found some less expensive but they looked cheap. I also found some more expensive which may have been even better, but why pay more if you don't need to. Got these on Memorial Day sale via Amazon. Assembly was relatively easy. There are a lot of nuts, bolts, screws and pieces. I assembled this myself which took me about 16 working hours. If you have more help, it should go much quicker. Provided directions are pretty good but watch some videos to get a better idea. Very sturdy and looks fantastic. I've received many compliments on them. I ended up buying 2 of these. ... show more

I am always cautions with the installation of large items. This was definitely a large item to assemble. So many times you have problems. BUT NOT HERE. This Gazebo is great. Quality parts, solid oiled cedar wood, powder coated steel roof, all protected from shipping mishaps. Directions were excellent, easy to understand. They include a bag of spare parts just in case, we didn't need many. I love it. Very sturdy. My old Gazebo would get blown around, had to weigh it down. I don't think this one is going anywhere. 500 lbs and vented roof to let wind escape. Installation: Other reviews report taking days to assemble. There were 3 of us, 3 ladders and good tools. You need a power screwdriver/nutdriver! We began unpacking and sorting parts at 7am. Sitting in chairs enjoying the shade under the Gazebo at 3pm! Have already recommended this highly to others.
