Great for the money. Had a few issues with my DIY install, but SunGoldPower's customer support helped out with all of them and the system is now working a treat. Battery storage works well and hand-off to line power is smooth (as long as you have quality wiring! Double check if you're doing your own install). Unit itself isn't too heavy, though the battery I bought with it was. Fans can be a bit loud, so plan for that if you're installing in a location with high traffic. ... show more

I purchased two of the SPH6548P solar inverters for two of my neighbors to upgrade their old and undersized PV systems, one off-Grid, the other with Grid back-up. One of the units failed in less than 48 hours and was quickly replaced. I was always told that if a piece of electronics lasts for more than 100 hours operational hours it'll last a very long time. The other unit, and the replacement unit both worked perfectly and continue to do so. I have an older SP6548 solar inverter which also continues to work very well, and another four of them that I installed for friends and neighbors. I really like the high-voltage MPPT PV circuits as they allow for long "skinny" wire runs to spots further (and sunnier) from the home. And the SPH6548P has even higher voltage levels than the older SP6548. I prefer the LCD displays on the newer SPH6548P, the ability to connect the PV circuits directly without having to use MC4 connectors and, of course, the option of wiring them for either 120-volt single-phase or 240-volt split-phase. Despite having lightning arrestors wired on both PV circuits, I'm actually hoping I get a direct lightning strike that takes out my SP6548 so I can upgrade to the newer and more capable SPH6548P. I also purchased a SPH10048P for another neighbor who decided to switch from a Grid-intertie situation to Grid back-up. They did so because Utilities are increasingly moving away from net metering, lowering the amount they pay back for PV electricity, and putting more restrictions on sizes of PV systems and energy payback timing. In my mind, after installing inverters for over 35 years, the SPH6548P or SPH10048P are the perfect solar inverters for this situation. ... show more

The system has been working geat. Was easy to install. The charging system in the inverter did not work for me with a generator. No matter what i did i couldn't get it to charge. Ended up buying a charger to run off the generator directly and has solved that issue. The Phone app needs work, doesn't show voltage but rather a percent that isn't very accurate. The unit does offer very clean reliable power for all my electronics. I run a split ac unit and it has been pretty flawless with this power source. If they could improve the generator charge feature, and upgrade the app i would give it 5* but none the less good unit for the price. ... show more

I recently installed the Sungoldpower 6.5KW 48V Split Phase Solar Inverter (SPH6548P) and so far, I am impressed. The installation was straightforward, and the included instructions were clear enough for a smooth setup. I currently have it connected to two EG4 LL 51.2V 100Ah batteries and PV input, though I haven’t placed it under load yet. The inverter powers up quickly, the display is easy to read, and system settings are intuitive to navigate. Build quality feels solid and well-designed.
