  • FANTASTIC!! 3000K GREAT NATURAL COLOR TOO!!
Color: 3000k Warm White Size: 12 Pack (Pack of 1)
I have become OBSESSED with finding the RIGHT LED COLOR TEMPERATURE.... and bought a few different sets to try. 2700K is too yellow and 5000K is harsh blueish white (lacking color).. horrible in the home (looks like warehouse lighting). Since KELVIN temperature can vary by brand (and intensity).. you have to find what works best for you taste. Additionally I also discovered "some" LED's can be quite hot to the touch generating lots of heat, while others remain cool. There are basically 2 types of bulbs.. flat disc and filament. Flat disc are usually plastic base half way up to the plastic dome top, leds mounted to flat disc radiating upward. These bulbs can get extremely hot at the base. Filament bulbs typically come in glass, have a full radiating pattern, and remain cool to the touch. These come in both type lenses, clear and frosted and are considered a better bulb. I recently compared 5 different bulbs in my chandelier: (1) CFL twisty bulb was unbelievable yellow (almost orange in comparison far more than I realized)... and generated a lot of heat at the base. Output was acceptable... I've been running these for years. (2) 3000K (this bulb 75W equivalent) filament LED (warm and bright)... much brighter in color (almost a halogen look) but still looked natural (the best of the 5 tested) .. great lumen output. (3) 3000K 60W "Reveal" Brand.. way too dark (only 600 lumens) and had a "red hue" to it. This was supposed to have a high CRI (color rendering index) but didn't seem any better than 3000K filament bulb. Output way too low.. Returned (4) 3500K LED 75W "flat disc" 800 lumens.. (about as white as I am comfortable with in the home environment) but acceptable. This is a good kelvin compromise between too yellow and too blueish white. Only downside (for me), the bulb generates a LOT of heat at it's base (5X bulbs would be too much) and may not be best upside-down or in enclosed fixture. Heat also prematurely kills LED's. This is the typical economy bulb bought it bulk pack at Lowes. Color good.. but still a little too white for my taste.. although works well in bathroom. (5) 4000K Filament 75W LED... very white, very bright. Usable, but did not look natural in my living room or dining area.. the room seemed to lack color. I'm glad I didn't order too many of these. Sidenote: I have found 4000K long fixtures to be more acceptable in right location such as work or office. (BONUS) 3000K Filament 11W high-output 1000+ lumens.. very bright, great color also looked natural. I have some lighting that stays on continuously, and don't trust bulbs that get hot.. as well as don't want the extra heat in any application (except maybe outdoors) It takes a while to really decide. When you first turn them on, or walk into the room is when you REALLY notice if they are too white, or too bright... or just feel unnatural. The colors in the room can suffer with wrong lighting, and looks like warehouse lighting. The 3000K 75W filament bulbs with shapely wide glass tops are a HUGE winner! They look GREAT in my chandelier, stylish, warm feel to the room. I have the same 3 in an overhead fan in the dining room too. These bulbs are a little taller, may not fit all applications (I have them in table lamps with no problem) These bulbs have no flicker, and are supposed to be dimable too.. which is perfect. Filament lighting is superior in many ways and they just look great too. It's taken a while, but I finally found one I'm happy with. Nice packaging.. the 12-pack was a GREAT value too! ... show more

  • Really good looking vintage style light bulbs
This review is for, "Sunco 3 Pack Vintage LED Edison Bulbs, 75W Equivalent 8.5W, 1000 LM, Dimmable ST58 Filament, 4000K Cool White, E26 Medium Base, Clear Glass Light Bulbs " ... Really bright light, but being dimmable I can use it perfectly. Using this with pendant style ceiling light at dinning and it gives awesomely vintage look. And the price, $6.99, is really affordable for set of three, I wasn't expecting this low price, I did purchase another couple of sets to use it in other light fixtures. Happy for now, not sure about longevity, time will tell. ... show more

  • What a great deal and they create more lumens for watt consumed because they are clear vs. frosted
Color: 4000k Cool White Size: 12 Pack (Pack of 1)
In looking at value, I looked into dimmable e26 base light bulbs in any shape but offering 800-1000 lumens, meant to appear like at least a 60w incandescent (I did not include those rated as 40W, for instance). Most, not all, that I found were clear bulbs. Generally, prices range from $3 - $10 each for bulbs at this level of brightness (similar to a 75W incandescent, at 1000LM) depending on quantity. This package of bulbs comes out at $2.50 each, which seems to be on the very low end of the pricing spectrum, less than the seemingly inferior Phillips bulbs I'm replacing, which cost $3-4 each. As a side note, I did compare in the photos the results with a standard Phillips 60w equivalent frosted bulb previously in my lamps, but that is a single diode, not a diode strip and, therefore, like a corncob bulb is also not dimmable but does use a very similar wattage while producing less light than this Sunco bulb. Old style single LED, frosted, non-dimmable bulbs which approximate a 60W bulb at 800-850LM can be had as cheaply as $1 each in quantity, but give you less light per watt by about 25%, so that's your call, but may be good for you especially if you don't care about dimming. I've also noticed that single diode bulbs tend to flicker much more and also tend to malfunction and die much earlier than the diode strips in these Sunco bulbs, so there is also that. Take a look at the photos. Picture 1 is the existing Phillips bulb I had in the lamp. Note that it is a bit warmer at 5000K and will produce a bit more "rosy" light. Picture 2 is the lamp with that bulb in it. Picture 3 is the lamp with the Sunco bulb installed. What you mainly see, being honest, is the difference in warmth of the two bulbs; however, if you look at the Christmas ornaments and their selections, you will see pretty clearly that the Sunco is making more light that actually reaches things in the room to illuminate them. For my money, this is a better use of wattage and should reduce my lighting cost significantly. I will be buying these in future by the pack of 12 or more, just to keep around for all my lights that have shades. For the lights that do not have shades, I may use the amber version, which looks very nice. ... show more
