Absolutely love the BMS870000 storage shed. Looked at a lot and thought this was the most aesthetically pleasing. Really looks great. And all the windows and skylights really help get light inside. The parts are good quality and the assembly instructions are good (and not translated from another language). All the parts are marked with a letter and their orientation… Right, left, top, etc.…very good!. I am 63 and assembled myself in one day. Some installation tips: Lay out all the parts to get familiar and ensure nothing missing. Assemble on a flat surface. A cordless drill with a Phillips bit is very helpful as there are a lot of screws. Do not over tighten… only plastic and can strip. A large rubber mallet is very useful (essential) as the parts need to slide all the way into the mating slot to ensure everything aligns. When assembling the windows, I found it helpful to temporarily tape the window, gasket & frame on the door as you will have to screw it from the other side of door. On the wall panels, I found it very helpful to mark where the “Tabs” on both sides with a sharpie so you can clearly see where they need to align on the corresponding slots in the floor. Best.

I only had enough room for an 8'x8' shed so this worked out perfectly. Product arrived in two boxes. Both boxes were very heavy. You need two fairly strong people to move them. Process took me about 5 hours to assemble and I worked on it nonstop. I already had the platform built (8'x8' treated lumber to avoid rot) ahead of time so was able to get right to it and fully assemble the shed same-day. Platform or base needs to be level or the doors may not close. I didn't have any problems, just noticed it could potentially be an issue. Ceiling panels were a little tricky to do by myself but I managed to get them in position and secured. I was pleased all parts were included and I did not have to contact customer support for anything missing. Instructions were pretty easy to follow, although there were four ceiling braces that were left at the end and I had to kind of figure out where they went by investigation and inspection. Overall I am very please with the resulting shed. It looks good and functions well. The only issue I can see potentially being a problem is the vents on the gables. If there is driving wind mixed with rain, I can see water being able to leak inside the shed and possibly damage water-sensitive items. I may put up a loose flap to help prevent this from occuring. Otherwise, just store everything in plastic bins and it shouldn't be an issue. Also, if your area is subject to high winds, you will want to purchase tornado anchors with cables running over the top to make sure shed is secure in a storm. If base of platform is wood (as is mine), it's easy to secure the shed base using lag screws and wide washers (not included). This will keep the base in place, but in high winds, the rest of the shed could be blown off the foundation if additional anchors are not used. If placed on concrete, you will need to use a hammer drill to drill holes for lag bolts. This would be a more time consuming process.

It appears to be very strong, well-made and adequate in size. Installation is basically easy, but as you get to the steps for the roof, lining up the product's pieces becomes tricky, and there are alignment problems. Also, giving the buyer pieces of screen, with no frames, to install on the eave vent sections is a little ridiculous. But all-in-all, a very good product. Would buy another from Suncast if needed!!!

There's a great YouTube video that takes you step by step through assembly except for the roof. The roof was difficult to install and not shown in the video. The printed instructions were helpful but would have been insufficient if not for watching the video. Small parts are bagged with a reference # - instructions use a different number system & a page explains this. Would be far simpler to label bags with same #. It took 3 of us over 5 hours to assemble using an electric screwdriver for the metal screws (must have). Totally worth the effort. Very nice, sturdy, pieces fit together well. Foundation: We leveled the ground, put down 700 lb (14-50 lb bags) of sand, 72 pavers (11 3/4" square). Huge, heavy boxes - unloaded with a pallet jack - had to store in garage as gate didn't open wide enough (would need an RV gate) to have delivery driver put it in the backyard. We unloaded piece by piece. Don't leave sides & roof panels in the sun during assembly- they get hot (to handle) and can warp.

Great shed! Overall the setup was easy. Building the wooden platform took more effort than the shed itself. Shed was delivered on a pallet. It took 1 hr to unbox, move to backyard, and take inventory of all the pieces. With everything accounted for it took me 4.5 hrs to put together by myself. If you take your time and follow the directions, then all your holes should line up. It might take some force with some pieces to push them into the proper place. I put this up on a windy day with 30 mph gusts. When I started the walls they held up fine. I was actually surprised. After assembling the whole thing it was pretty solid. I have not had a rain storm yet so can’t speak for the waterproofing but I think it’ll do just fine. As the instructions stress, the base is important. It even includes instructions for a wooden base. I chose to put mine on skids so I can move it if needed. Plus when we get a lot of rain I get quite a bit of puddling, so that’ll keep it from getting flooded. I will probably build a removable ramp for it. Suncast is USA made and known for their outdoor resin storage, so you won’t be disappointed in their quality compared to some of the other sheds on Amazon. So far I think it’s great and will hold up!

I purchased this 8' x 7' Suncast Storage Shed from Amazon for $710 with free shipping. I had a contractor pour a 8' x 7' concrete pad for $680. The shed arrived in about 2 weeks to my front door. The evening before I assembled it, I inventoried the package for all the parts and hardware....all there plus some....took about 30 minutes. I then conducted the preassembly.....windows, skylights, door handles, hinges, headers, roof and truss support, etc.....took me about 2 hours in my garage including watching a ball game. The next morning, I started with anchoring the 2 floor panels to the concrete slap...took about 30 minutes. I then assembled the 7 panels just like a Lego set.....took about 45 minutes....a mallet and 1' board came in handy. Assembling the headers and truss took about 30 minutes. It took another hour to assemble the 4 roof panels and secure the roof. Attaching the two doors took another 30 minutes. I spent another 30 minutes tighting things up and the rest of the day putting up shelfs, organizing my stuff and admiring my work. Though the manual says it takes 2 people to assemble, I had no problem doing it myself.....never did think I needed a second pair of hands. Total time required included piddling, distractions and a ball game was about 6 hours. On a scale of 1 to 10 of difficulty to assemble....10 being the most difficult, I would give it a 3. The instructions and illustrations were great. Note to Suncast....your name plate on the front header was screwed in upside down and the prepunched holes for the slide roof ridge beam brackets didn't come close to lining up.....not even in the ballpark. Excellent product and would buy another Suncast product. Update...I failed to mention I assembled this shed two weeks prior to Hurricane Matthew coming through NC. I thought for sure I would wake up to find the shed gone or severely damaged. To my surprise...not a scratch and no leaks inside the shed. Several storms later and still no leaks.

This 8x7 Suncast Shed is made well! As I completed the build a storm hit with high winds and torrential rain… Happy to report no leaks and it held tight! If there is one improvement that can initially be made is the directions! 90 percent good but you must be somewhat of a detective to find clues for a few parts!! Otherwise the shed was somewhat easy to put together! 2 people are needed for the roof and support. I’m happy with it! Only time will tell. There is a 10 year warranty!
