    • POORLY DESIGNED WITH NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE
I originally ordered 3 of these hoods about a 6 weeks ago. I have now received 9 of them , all broken in the exact same way. The threaded inserts that hold the glass up were all broken off the main housing of the hood, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM (ON EVERY SINGLE HOOD). I emailed the manufacturer after beginning the return process through Amazon. They assured me that "these hoods were of highest quality ( as says the price tag) and that the inserts were bonded very securely to the housing, my hoods must have taken a bad hit in shipping". I agreed, even though the boxes looked fine. I returned my hoods and ordered three more. After getting three more in the mail, and paying for more shipping I found those were ALL DAMAGED IN THE EXACT SAME WAY. One of them was double boxed with packing paper surrounding it. I called the manufacturer this time. No help, he basically told me not to buy it through Amazon. Am i the only one who has had this issue? I can't imagine these hoods holding up after tightening the thumb screws more than a couple times. Seems like some kind of threaded insert that actually tightened to the hood would be a simple fix, but I should I have to go to fabricating on a brand new $250 hood just to make it function as advertised. After the first email to sun supply I felt I had made the right choice of hoods based on customer service, but after 6 hoods I kinda have to wonder how they have managed to not lose every customer that has purchased one of these. UPDATE I AM NOW AT NUMBER 9 WITH NO SOLUTION OFFERED. ... show more

The light works has a huge covereage area with great reflection. love the Low profile and air cooled hood. It fits perfectly in my 5x5 The bulb i ordered for it works. the ballast i ordered for it works. i like the idea behind it. but unfortunately, I received a damaged product. It appears it was damaged before it was shipped to me. but Also the shipping box was half opened. This is important to the review because i ordered a 230 dollar light and it was shipped to me in such a thin cardboard box it had very minimal protection during shipping. There is a large dent in the top of the hood where it looks like the moisture seal will not be effecient anymore. In that exact area the screw that holds the glass on is stripped and at a 30 degree angle from the damaged part. ... show more

Good product with a low profile. Two suggestions: One, recommend adding to the product description that you must use an T25 tubular lamp with this. Needless to say, we purchased a regular size lamp for this, and it does not fit. I do not see this as a problem, just wold have been nice if this was in the description. Other suggestion is that they pack it a little better for shipping. When the unit arrived, the shipping box was wrapped in bubble wrap. When we took the bubble wrap off, the box had several breaks and was crushed is a few places. The reflector itself was dented and scratched in a few places. We considered returning, but the damage is mostly cosmetic, so we will keep it. These two things are the only reason I did not give this 5-stars. But overall, this is a great unit with a very low profile. ... show more

this is the best reflector ever had you definitely have to run 1000 watt bulbs because its so large but it cools very well and you save like 8 inches in height because of the low pro set up which doesn't sound like a lot but in a 78 inch tent its a lot. the only thing ide like to see is this in a double ended bulb that would be excellent but I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the market and side not it doesn't fit in a 4x4 tent that well because of air ports ... show more

This is one of the most efficient hoods I've ever used, and I've been through a few. On the plus side, it has an unbelievable low profile, and amazing airflow. I'm running 1000w hps lights and this hood with an active air fan keeps the temps down to nothing. On the negative side, the latching system is a joke. Small little thumb screws, poorly designed, and two of them broke before I got the bulb in. They sent this in its original factory packaging, no additional protection. When it finally came the box was in tatters, one of the air outlets was dented in, and one corner of the glass frame was dented. I would recommend finding a local supplier, and picking them up yourself. Other then that I'll be converting my 8 other reflectors to these. ... show more
