this bed was wonderful. I don't recommend an American folding futon. get something more original if you need firm. It's so practical that I gave it to a foster mom for when she has children come and stay in the home. she can easily pull it out or put it away and it didn't cost too much

The build quality is kinda mid. Some of the edges are kinda rough and sharp. But it did its job and serves as a good enough base for my futon mattress. Should be careful of the middle standoff support since I stub my toe into it a few times.
