  • Highly disappointed
Bought this item and the first fire at 06 cone the rod bent and ruined all my products!! Highly disappointed!

  • Replacement bead stand arrived safely
These bead stands are made of alumina and as such are very fragile. I was so disappointed that my stand arrived broken with both parts having had the top tiers broken off, after waiting almost two weeks for it to arrive. Happily, when I notified Amazon / seller a second set in record time and I will be glaze firing beads and earrings very soon! ... show more

  • Piece of you know what!
HORRIBLE! First package arrived with stands in pieces. Box was shipped with no protective outer wrapping, just a label that said "Fragile" on a thin cardboard box. Who wouldn't think to put it in another box with some bubble wrap?? Second package arrived, packed better, no damage to stands. Used the rack to make evil eye ornaments and the wires are NOT safe for high heat. All eight rods were bent after one firing! For ten dollars more, buy the rack from The Ceramic Shop. I bought this second rack thinking I'd save a few bucks and have more space to make more ornaments, but this was a waste of money!! ... show more

  • Good Oven and Kiln Clay Rods
The second alumina stand did not survive shipping despite being carefully wrapped in layers of bubble wrap and foam. Which looked done with care. It happens. But the first one is perfectly in tact so I can probably glue the other pieces. This kind of composite material is pretty fragile anyways, but it’s good the other one is still in one piece. Since my use for it is in a small oven to bake polymer clay beads and charms. Assuming this is also rated for smaller ovens? At least the rods since they’re high temperature tolerance. And they’re small which is very good. A bit disappointing the other stand is broken in three spots, but still usable for smaller setups since it’s not shattered completely. ... show more

  • A Great Way to Maximize Kiln Space for Beads and Small Ceramic Pieces
I use my kiln almost every day, so I'm always looking for ways to fire more pieces efficiently. I've been making do with smaller pieces of kiln furniture for the past year, but finally decided it was time to treat myself to a proper bead rack. I would purchase the same quality at a kiln store - these are a goo quality. One thing to be aware of is that the listing photos make the upright rack appear much larger than it actually is. Be sure to check the listed dimensions rather than judging the size from the pictures. The rack measures approximately 10 inches tall, 8 inches wide, and 5 inches deep, making it ideal for smaller work rather than large hanging pieces. This rack is designed for suspending ceramic beads, pendants, buttons, earrings, and other small clay pieces. Hanging your work keeps it off the kiln shelf, allows heat to circulate evenly around each piece, reduces the chance of pieces sticking to the kiln shelf, and frees up valuable shelf space for additional kiln furniture and projects. My kiln fires to 2500°F, so I simply make sure not to exceed the rack's maximum temperature rating of 2462°F. The heavy-gauge alloy/nichrome wires are sturdy, but like any bead rack, they can bend if overloaded with heavy ceramic pieces. Make sure the holes in your clay pieces are large enough to slide easily onto the support wires. If the holes are too small and you force them, you risk damaging either the piece or the support wire. Like all kiln furniture, the rack itself is durable but not indestructible. It can crack or break if dropped or occasionally from repeated thermal stress over time, so I recommend storing it carefully with some padding when it's not in use. I'll be including a photo showing the rack inside my kiln with work hanging from it because I think that's the easiest way to understand how it functions. Pros Excellent for beads, pendants, earrings, buttons, and other small ceramic work. Makes excellent use of vertical kiln space. Keeps pieces off the kiln shelf. Allows even heat circulation around suspended work. Heavy-duty support wires. Helps increase the amount you can fire in a single kiln load. Cons Listing photos make the rack appear larger than it actually is. Don't overload the hanging wires with heavy pieces. Store carefully to prevent accidental damage. 🟢 Sue's Value Rating: $$ – Good Value *****Important safety message. Do not rest the hanging wires to touch or rest on your kiln heating elements. It could cause a fire and/or short out your kiln. Quality kiln furniture isn't inexpensive because it must withstand repeated firings at extremely high temperatures. At $47.99, I found this rack to be competitively priced compared with similar bead racks from established ceramic suppliers. Final Recommendation If you regularly fire ceramic jewelry, beads, pendants, buttons, or other small hanging projects, this rack is an excellent way to increase kiln capacity and make better use of your firing space. Just be sure your pieces are sized appropriately, don't overload the support wires, and handle the rack with care so it will last many years of service. ... show more

  • Fragile package, marked as fragile, sent in manufacturer's packaging. What could go wrong?
Arrived completely destroyed/broken. While the box is marked “fragile, handle with care” it was shipped in the manufacturer’s box without any Amazon packaging to offer support or buffering, just the shipping label on the box. Supports were broken in several places because they were wrapped in bubble wrap and packed right up against each other in that box- and that was the only protection in shipping. With that said, these supports seem extra fragile compared to other racks I have used. Returning requires I send the broken item back so I am writing this review first just in case since literally the only thing fully usable in what I am returning is the bars/wires. ... show more

  • Solid but not too sturdy
Overall I think this is a great thing to have as a potter but I'm nervous how unstable this is. Each side has a base that's only about one inch wide so a strong wind could just push it down. If they made this with a wider base, I think it could be perfect. They also need to package it better. There was no cushioning in packaging so the first one I orderd had a major chip. The replacement was ok. I havn't fired it yet but I think these are ... show more
