Pattern Name: Tunnel

Size: 4 Inch, 1pc

Features

  • Cholla driftwood tunnels create a natural appearance and are great for hermit crab climbing decorations, or adding additional hiding places for shrimp and small fish.
  • Easily attach live plants such as anubias, bucephalandra, or even moss to create a natural sunken log effect, or place in reptile habitats to create a desert look.
  • Consists of all-natural, organic dried husk of the Cholla cactus with a porous skeleton-like structure and soft texture.
  • Each stick is approximately 4 long and 1.5-2.5 inches wide. You will receive randomly selected sizes both thin and thick.
  • Boiling the wood prior to use is recommended and will reduce natural slight browning of your water and help them sink better as they are very light and will float initially. This will reduce over time.

  • Shrimp condo
Pattern Name: Tunnel Size: 6 Inch, 1pc
It’s where all the cool kids hang out. I had to block the openings to stop kiddos nosy betta from trying to get in there

  • Does not sink
Pattern Name: Tunnel Size: 6 Inch, 1pc
Does not sink, I had to attach weights to one side. Other than that, the animals seem to like it

  • Delighted with My Purchase: Cholla Wood Adds Charm and Character to My Aquarium!
Pattern Name: Tunnel Size: 6 Inch, 1pc
I recently purchased a piece of cholla wood to use as a decoration in my fish tank, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. What sets this wood apart is its unique appearance, providing a distinct look to my aquarium that isn’t as common as other decorations. Upon arrival, I was pleased to find that the wood was precisely as described in size and appearance. However, it’s important to note that before placing it in your aquarium, soaking the wood in water for a few days and changing the water multiple times a day is essential to remove the tannins. This process prevents the wood from turning the aquarium water a dark brown color. Once the soaking process is complete, the wood can be safely added to the aquarium without any concerns. The tannins won’t harm the fish; instead, they simply tint the water, mimicking a natural stream environment. I highly recommend this cholla wood for anyone seeking a unique and natural-looking decoration for their fish tank. Its intricate structure provides ample hiding spaces for small fish, particularly beneficial if you have young fry or baby fish in your tank. Overall, a fantastic addition to any aquarium setup! ... show more

  • Too small and rough for a betta
Pattern Name: Tunnel Size: 6 Inch, 1pc
Not big enough for a betta, and it’s been 3 days weighted down in my tank and it won’t sink. Probably going to go in the trash so the betta won’t get stuck trying to swim through. Also very rough and will likely rip a fin. Waste of money (for me). For reference the pic is just a 10 gallon tank. This log is being weighted down by a rock in the picture and you can see the size of the opening in the reflection. ... show more

  • A few unexpected positives!
Pattern Name: Tunnel Size: 6 Inch, 1pc
I got the tunnel shape, and it's perfect! It was a minor or slow change in the ph of my tank water. I'm preparing to introduce neocaridina shrimp into my aquarium. This will be a perfect little hang out for them. My hillstream loaches are loving it! I already have mopani driftwood that they like to flutter around on, but the cholla wood seems to be a favored spot! I think the price was fine. It's really a lovely color and texture addition. It was unintentionally a great spot to anchor my water wisteria, and some of my pennywort has attached too. I don't think it will clog the wood for the shrimp either. If anything it will be beneficial for them. ... show more

  • Smaller than expected and expensive
Pattern Name: Tunnel Size: 4 Inch, 1pc
I gave this product two stars, not because the product was inherently bad, but because I think the price for its size and look is ridiculous when compared to a piece of cholla wood I got from my local pet store. The one I got from my pet store was 6 inches long and had a diameter of 4 inches (basically 3x the size of the one I bought from here). It was much bigger than the one I bought off of Amazon and looks a lot better quality too. Comparing prices, the one from my local pet store was $12 and the one from here was $10. All-in-all, if you want a thin cave of cholla wood, I think it's fine, but I think you should look at local pet stores to be sure that this is the product for you. ... show more
