Bought this a couple of years ago and I'm at the end of the roll, been using it for various projects around the house. This tape is just fantastic. First, it's inexpensive compared to other brands, it isn't thick but it is strong and sticky, just what you need to get things to stay in place. I used this for a room full of carpet tiles that had no backing (all cloth) and it did the job perfectly and there are still no problems with the tiles. They are in place and haven't moved at all, and they get vacuumed every day. And you don't need a lot, I put five pieces on each tile, one in the middle and on the four corners and it does the job. I also did my basement with tiles and with those, I bought thicker ones with rubber backing but they would move on the painted floor. So I used the tape (two big pieces top and bottom of tile and it worked perfectly, again. No more slippage and the high traffic areas are holding up well. I would recommend cutting with scissors, it works the best for me and get a bottle of goo gone and clean them often. But if you get big and sharp ones, you can cut in one snip and that works well. If you don't and leave a bit, it is hard to cut without a piece of the tape sticking to the scissors. The cloth mesh of the tape is strong and if you even have a little piece you didn't cut, you can't rip it off, you need to cut it or you will ruin the piece. If it sticks to itself, you won't get it undone. Carefully apply and then peel off the backing, which comes off easily at the corners. Trick is to press the tape firmly into what you want to stick it to and then just press down with your fingernail at the corner and crinkle it a bit and then peel it back. Tape is so sticky that it won't come off before the backing does. To remove, simply pull on the mesh and it will come loose, but you will need some goo gone to clean up any residue. I'm definitely not an expert in carpet but having dogs who jumped off my stairs constantly made a hole in the original carpet that needed to be patched up! I was fortunate enough to get some carpet remnants and using this tape patch the carpet up. It'd was so easy to use and it really will stick to anything! Tried it for reattaching an underside cloth edge strip to a fairly expensive but older oriental rug. This tape was the perfect width for us and is super sticky, so be careful about letting it touch anything anywhere, especially itself unless THAT is where you want it to stick. The two fabric pieces we had (rug and cloth strip, were flexible so we had to lay et upside down on a flat surface to apply the tape to the rug and then carefully press the cloth strip onto it. Worked like a charm. After applying, we turned the rug right side up and apply a lot of pressure to ensure good sticking. If that is anything like your project, make sure the 2-sided tape is fully covered by the fabric you want to attach. I was concerned that any excess might stick to our carpet or the floor, but we were careful not to let that happen. I got the 3D Maxpider Kagu floorliners for my new Traverse. The front and second row pieces fit into a form fitting well so they stay in place and do not move at all. However the third row piece has nothing to fit into. The Velcro-like backing is actually useless and doesn’t stick one bit. It just slides all over the place. Defeated, as I loved the Kagu carbon fiber like texture they’re so much nicer than anything from weathertech or husky. I was looking for solutions online when I learned about carpet double sided tape. I went on Amazon and Sugarman was far away the best review one, but also incredibly expensive for tape. No time to be cheap I ordered it because it’s the only one that actually mentioned car use. I was pleasantly surprised that it’s not thick at all. It’s not your normal double sided tape. It’s a clear film kinda like medical tape. It sticks and it sticks well. I got the floor piece to stick and now my boys had been jumping in and out of the third row and it hasn’t budge. Removing is easy too. I had to realign the floorliner and pulling it up is simple. I don’t know the magic behind it, I just know that it works perfectly. ... show more

I recently bought carpet treads and an area rug. I didn't want to use tacks/staples to attach the treads as I will be refinishing the steps down the road. I didn't want a bunch of holes in my steps. So, I decided to use carpet tape. The Cape I had previously barely held my rugs to the floor in my bedroom. So I searched Amazon and went through 15 pages of listings and decided on these. I'm so glad I did. This carpet tape holds the treads in place even with high traffic on steps. The tape was extremely simple to use just cut to the proper size, peel one layer of paper off, attach that side to the treads (or area rug) and peel the other side off and press the treads/rug to the floor. I put the tape around all edges of the treads. I stood on them to make sure they were secure. They haven't moved at all. I have plenty leftover so when I do get around to refinishing my steps I can just reapply it. I don't have to worry about having dozens of tack holes in my steps. Couldn't be happier with this product. I even used it for a runner in front of my washer & dryer in my laundry room as well as small mats in front of my doors. ... show more
