Description

ROBERTS 2057 Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT) Adhesive is a clear, solvent-free, water-based, thin-spread tile adhesive that provides excellent grab and high residual tack. This superior grade tile adhesive brushes, rolls or trowels on and helps hold tiles firmly in place, even when subjected to repeated cleaning and mopping. When spread thinly as instructed, the adhesive dries correctly and turns clear, allowing chalk lines to remain visible. This adhesive is also suitable for installing vinyl-composition or vinyl-asphalt tile over existing vinyl-composition or vinyl-asphalt subfloors that are free from waxes, sealers and finishes.

This stuff is next-level sticky! I used this to re-stick some old peel and stick flooring that was coming up. I was able to re-stick the old tiles, and then I used this to add some extra adhesive on the new peel and stick vinyl planks that I was installing. They have not budged at all, and I've used it to add some extra sticking power to some peel and stick faux brick on the walls in our house. We're currently re-painting and modernizing our house, and this stuff has really helped to make our DIY updates more permanent. This stuff is dangerously sticking though. After doing the floors, my hands were sticky for days. I tried using rubbing alcohol and acetone to remove it from my hands, and this stuff would not budge.. I did some laundry and made the mistake of cleaning the lint trap, and I ended up with linty fingers for two days. I then tried using some simple black vinyl gloves that I'd had in the house and they got so sticky that I was struggling to move my fingers in them. From here on, I'll just deal with the sticky fingers for a few days, cause this stuff was worth it. ... show more

    • It works but thinner than I thought it would be
This stuff was thinner than I thought it would be. Pretty messy. Gotta be careful. I used dish washing soap and hot water to clean up any drops, my hands and my tools. Still some tackyness after clean up. I would say it needs some good drying time because it's so thin. Don't disturb the flooring! I would say it needs 2 days of dry time but we shall see. Otherwise, it does the job. Update 12/9 - Man this stuff is so messy. It is sticky. Washed hands repeatedly and still tacky. This time threw my tools away. Be careful with this stuff. Absolutely do not want to spill on the floor. Anything dropped can easily be stepped on and tracked around. Just gotta be real careful. ... show more

    • Complete mess
Adhesive never cured, I let the floor sit for a whole week with no one walking across it and it still has adhesive coming up between the seems. Sticky mess , going on 2 weeks of letting it “dry” and same problem.

Really liked this product. Our vinyl flooring has stuck so well. No movement or shifting or pockets of air. I started the install at 8 months pregnant and my husband finished it off without any problems. I will say we had a lot of spots of glue that got on the vinyl that we had to scrub off with a plastic bristle brush and some floor cleaner - luckily it came off relatively easily even after 3 weeks of it sitting. Our floors are real light so you couldn't see where we had gotten the glue unless you really focused, it probably would've been more visible on a darker floor ... show more

Loved this stuff! Ok we got those peel and stick tiles before and after you lay them and they look great they start popping up... lesson learned and I bought this stuff and wow no joke works great I did use a paint brush to paint the back of the tiles and give 24 hours to dry and their not moving. I have a huge ashley dresser and a few solid wood pieces that are super heavy and pushed them across the tiles after drying and they didn't move a bit. This stuff works but move fast and try not to get on your hands cause the stuff sticks everything to you ... show more
