Description

ROBERTS 6700 adhesive is formulated for installation of exterior and interior carpet. It is a SBR latex, solvent-free adhesive offering high initial strength and an improved environmental footprint. Powered by Microban, this product protection helps fight the growth of stain and odor-causing bacteria that can cause product degradation. ROBERTS 6700 is ideal for used in enclosed patios or sunrooms, as well as basements and can be used to adhere most indoor/outdoor carpets with polypropylene (Actionbac), rubber-backed (foam, marine, waffle), closed-cell urethane foam back, tufted, woven or non- woven/needle-bond backings VOC: <1 g/L. Made in the USA, this non-flammable adhesive can be used in areas where flammable adhesives pose a health risk due to fumes or flashback fires.

Let me start by saying, this carpet glue means serious business when it comes to holding things together. It's like the superhero of adhesives, with an extreme hold that's practically unmatched. Once it sets, you can trust that whatever you've glued isn't going anywhere. However, there's a bit of a learning curve with this product. While its strength is impressive, it also means you need to handle it with care. It has a tendency to stick to everything it comes into contact with, so being neat and precise during application is crucial. I learned this the hard way when my gloves ended up sticking to my tools. It was a bit of a sticky situation, pun intended! But once I got the hang of it and started being more careful, the process became much smoother. Despite the initial challenges, I have to admit, the results speak for themselves. The carpet is securely in place, and I have no doubts about its durability over time. I needed to replace the fabric boards on my boat trailer. I bought this because that’s what was recommended. I understand why. It’s easy to work with, has a good “open time” tackiness until it sets and it is waterproof. Wear old work clothes so if it gets on them, you don’t worry—it won’t come off. When we opened it, the jar was only 1/2 full. Shrinkflation? Glue didnt dry after 24 hours so we put a fan on it then it dried slowly over a couple of days. Otherwise the glue seems to be good quality. Spreads easily, cover fairly well.
