I'm a 6' 200lbs stroke victim and I bought the 18" wide model. I like this wheelchair a lot compared to the classic black Drive wheelchairs. First it is much lighter so my partner can get it in and out of the car trunk easier. It provides lumbar support as advertised so it is very comfortable on my back and butt even after 3-4 hours of sitting. The armrest are part of the frame and not fold back, however I can roll upto the kitchen table and the arms go under it allowing me to work at my laptop. The wheelchair is smaller than a regular wheelchair and i can maneuver in small spaces without beating our walls. The breaks are great and easy to use with large molded levers. As for the challenges of using this chair: 1) It's harder for me to get out of it because its lower than my old chair which also had a thick seat cushion for comfort. It is hard to get my butt to the front edge of the chair to get my nose over my toes to stand up. The armrest are very strong but shorter and lower than i am used too. I have only had this wheelchair for two days and have yet to be able to stand up by myself in the middle of the room, at 6' i have long legs. The footrest are much easier to use and fold out of the way nicely. Because the wheelchair is narrow, it can sit to the side of our hallway without hindering passage. So far i love this chair and will update this review as i learn more. It sucks that i couldn't find a way to buy it using medicare, but it is wort the expense, ... show more

What a MARVELOUS wheelchair! Hubby and I were both extremely pleased -- and surprised -- when we sat in it and were so comfortable. Although the wheelchair is for him, I didn't want to get out of it. When I finally relinquished it to him, he sat in it and his eyes lit up. I am absolutely DELIGHTED, especially since he did not want to get ANY wheelchair and fought me -- and his doctor -- for months about it. I was also blown away by how agile it is, it spins on a dime and takes up no space at all in the process! Several times, hubby said, "this is not good, I'm never gonna wanna get out of this thing." We had planned to keep it in the trunk of the car permanently, for use outside the home, and he was going to use his walker indoors, but he's changing his thinking now. He really and truly loves the chair, and I could not be happier. It's wonderful to see the man smiling for a change. We did the right thing, choosing this chair over all the others. I did not receive the clips for the footrest to fold back in place. Hope they mail quickly to make it right. The chair is definitely wonderful but I need the footrest to be able to manage.

Comfortable seat, great back support, smooth riding and easy to turn. It's a little bit heavy to use on your own for big outings but great for others to push you in. My only critique is that the anti-tipping bars on the back are annoying for my husband because he always kicks them when pushing me. I pushed it myself and noticed this as well. We are very pleased so far with the wheelchair itself except wish the arms were available on Amazon in full length rather than the short desk arms. Short arms are not comfortable for my tall husband. They also are not long enough for him to help push off to stand as he has no leg strength. The anti tippers are essential and make getting over raised thresholds very easy. The chair turns easily. The weight is also easily manageable (essential) for me to get into and out of the car trunk. Footrests are adequate but take time to put on and take off and are on the short side for long feet. Features that would be appreciated for a 6’ man 170 lbs would be 1) full arm option, 2) 2-3” higher seat and arms (arms are low with no easy way to add padding to raise them), 3) 3” higher back as we have to add a seat pad or the chair is too low for long legs and too low for him to stand up even with help, 4) higher or adjustable height caregiver push handles as I have to stoop which is tiring and I’m only 5’6”, 5) easily available (Amazon) spare or replacement tires/wheels as they are unavailable in our area. The chair seems well made. Shipping from the company and UPS was slower than expected and certainly not Prime worthy. We will update if our experience changes over time. ... show more

my 94 year old dad was uncomfortable in the wheelchairs we had. Saw this at a store but it was sold, ordered on amazon, even though said coming in 10 days got it in 3 and my Dad loves it. Going to the zoo with it tomorrow.

i had this wheelchair for less than 3 hours, reached to the floor to pick up something i dropped. Over I went, onto my face with the wheelchair on top of me!! I have been in a wheelchair for over 17 years, same size, and have never come close to something like this. I chipped 2 teeth, am still sporting black and blue bruising on my face and neck. i am a 76 year old woman and did not need excitement like this!!
