We have been using an inexpensive transport chair for our daughter for several years. We recently took a vacation and had to push the chair over rough surfaces and uneven ground. It failed miserably. We decided it was time to make an investment in a top quality chair with 12" wheels as our daughter is 35 and will need it for many years to come. This is a great chair. The tires run smoothly over most surfaces and it's easy to push. The blue color is pretty cool too. The only negative is we bought the smaller 16" chair because our daughter is petite (5'3" 125 pounds). The smaller chair sits 2" lower to the ground so the hand grips are 2" lower. I am 5'5" and it is perfectly fine for me; however, my husband is 6' 2" and he has to lean over to push the chair. If we could do it over again I would have bought the 18" chair. We bought this transfer wheelchair for my daughter who is petite at only 4' 10" tall and 120 lbs. Strongback offers 3 seat width choices, so we ordered the 16" wide seat. I was a bit skeptical because of the cost, but to my surprise it fits her perfectly while providing good back support for outings. It's easy to navigate around, wheels are solid and roll smoothly over surfaces, folds easily for storage in my car's trunk, and handbrakes lock securely. The seat material has a decent cushion and seems well made. It should last us a few years. Like others, I've purchases so many transfer wheelchairs in the past that never fit properly or hold up. We've had it for 2 weeks now and she feels very secure in it while we're pushing her around. My only disappointment is that the wheel cover popped off after our first outing. And it doesn't seems to securely snap back in place ( but it's mostly for aesthetics). Otherwise we are thrilled with this wheelchair. ... show more

It's pricey, but worth it. After years of complaints from my patient over how uncomfortable the standard wheelchair is for him, I bit the bullet and bought this. He's a small man, so I got the 16" seat model and it's great. Fits him perfectly, fits through the doorway easily, and sits him closer to the table when he eats. For certain outings it’s absolutely necessary to have a transport or lightweight wheelchair for my 18 year old son. He uses a power chair full time and over the years I have bought countless back up chairs that have simply disappointed us in so many ways. This chair is supportive enough, extremely light weight and stylish. The design really keeps both the seat occupant and the attendant in mind. My only issue is not having found this chair sooner and spending so much money on other chairs that never worked well for us.
