Description

Peperomia prostrata, better known as string of turtles, is a delightful trailing semi-succulent vine that will add oodles of whimsy to any home, patio, or garden. Peperomia prostrata is a member of the Peperomia family and is native to South America. Its unique leaves are the main attraction, resembling tiny turtle shells. The leaves are small and round and are a deep green color with contrasting silver markings. The plant can grow up to 12 inches in length, making it perfect for hanging baskets or even as a ground- cover in a frost-free garden. Your string of turtles plant will arrive fully rooted in a 6-inch hanging basket. The plant's tidy size makes it ideal for tight spaces, such as small kitchens or patios. You can use Peperomia prostrata in a variety of ways. Hanging baskets or pots placed on a shelf or windowsill will showcase the plant's cascading charms and make it easy to appreciate its unique leaves up close. This String of Turtles arrived in beautiful shape, well-packaged with a heat packet. About 1/5th of the turtle leaves dropped off, but I pinched off the bare strings and the picture here is the final result. Previously I had purchased a Sansevieria from this company that had arrived in sad shape - so I was initially reluctant to make another purchase from them. But I'm glad that I did.
