Useful, nifty, and nice to look at

This was exactly what I needed. I am learning how to solder and desolder using an old 2010 black widow full size keyboard and this was large enough to lay everything on, including the soldering iron, and work safely and conveniently. It does not slip on the surface it is mounted on, stuff does not slip on top of the mat. I liked the magnetic parts holders and the built in compartments to hold parts you’re using. It is very durable. I poked at the mat a couple times with the iron on (purely out of curiosity) and nothing happened, so that is nice. I do not have a place to keep this out, so storage was a small concern. Packaging was easy, just roll it up and put it back in the box! And slide it away. Since I’ve used it, my brother has also used it, and I will be pulling it back out this weekend to add my resistors and LEDs. I did buy this on sale to keep costs down on my personal learning project, but I am happy that I did. My only complaint is that I wish the whole front of the mat was flat. The right side has the nifty compartments, that I like, but it was annoying the few times I needed to rest my wrist to counter fatigue. I just took a break instead (which is probably the better thing to do anyways). And it isn’t that ugly blue color!! Which alone makes it better than some of the other ones on the market! 9/10 - I would recommend.

Large, Heat‑Resistant Soldering Mat—Great Layout, Great Protection

I’ve been looking for a large soldering & repair mat with built‑in storage compartments—especially magnetic ones for springs and tiny screws—since I regularly work on electronics, toys, laptops, and tools. It also needed to be easy to clean, heat‑resistant, lubricant‑resistant, and soft enough to protect delicate surfaces. This mat checks every box. I bought the largest size, just under 22" × 16", and it gives me plenty of room to spread out and focus on my work. There are multiple parts trays, numbered screw compartments, and several magnetic sections along the top and right side. The raised outer edge keeps small parts from rolling away, which is a lifesaver during detailed repairs. The mat arrived rolled up, and I placed a couple of heavy objects on the corners to help it flatten. The instructions say it will settle on its own after a few hours, and that was true for mine. There was a slight silicone smell at first, but it dissipated quickly once out of the bag. Heat resistance is excellent—I can flick solder onto it without worrying about damage. The surface is also resistant to dirt and corrosion, and it wipes clean easily with water or alcohol. The included magnets aren’t extremely strong, but they’re good enough to hold a 2‑inch steel bit upright, which is all I really need. Pros High heat resistance up to 932°F (500°C) Multiple magnetic areas, screw trays, and tool slots for excellent organization Non‑slip texture on both sides keeps the mat firmly in place Easy to clean and resistant to dirt, oils, and corrosion Large working area with raised edges to prevent parts from rolling away Cons A bit pricey compared to smaller or thinner mats Silicone can swell with certain petroleum oils—long‑term resistance may vary depending on lubricants used Overall, I’m very pleased with this purchase. It’s durable, spacious, heat‑safe, and extremely practical for electronics repair. If you need a soft, protective, heat‑resistant work surface, this is absolutely worth buying. Highly recommended.

Game changer for people who work on old electronics and video games

This little mat is ingenious. I started my own eBay business and sell a lot of old video games and electronics. Since I buy a lot of them dirt cheap and they have to be cleaned or even fixed. This mat has been a very smart buy for me. Not only does it keep my workstation safe from loose solder or other chemicals, but it is also a great place to keep all the clutter so it doesn't fall into the floor or anything. Sometimes. I wish I would have gotten the even bigger one. But fair warning. It does get dirty quick. Even though it is very easy to clean. You will have to clean it more often than I thought because since everything stays on the mat and does not get on your floor or on the other parts of your workstation, it gathers on the mat pretty quickly. But it's still a great little tool that I have in my electronics arsenal.

I didn’t buy this for soldering—I specifically wanted a silicone mat with compartments for my ring making setup, and it’s been exactly what I needed. Nice work mat, but about impossible to see the ruler embossed into the lower part of the mat.

I do radio repairs, Ham radio equipment, so this is a nice addition to my workbench/table. I will point out that if you have little black screws, which at times I get on units, and you pit them in one of the sections on this mat made to hold little parts. It is like you will need the Hubble telescope to find them! LOL, It is great if they are a shiny chrome or what have you, and they were nice enough to print on a ruler at the bottom which works if you can read Braille! Even with a flashlight shinning on the ruler you cannot read it at all. They needed to make that section a different color as it is useless in black. Other than that I have not tested the surface to see how it holds up to the soldering iron like it states.

The mat is way better than I expected. It is outstanding for the price. The design features are more than I expected. Some of the mini storage slots are magnetic, big benefit when working with very small metal screws. Plenty of storage space and it has a ruler designed into. I had to use a micro torch on a stuck screw, and it didn't leave a mark on the mat. Plenty of surface area for the work I do.
