  • Safely And Accurately Park Your Car In Tight Garage Spaces
  • Uses Ultrasonic, Range-Finding Technology

Description

The STKR Parking Sensor is designed to take the guess work out of parking your car in tight garage spaces. It features adjustable, ultrasonic range-finding technology. Simply mount the sensor unit in front of your vehicle at bumper level, then mount the signal light in a position easily viewed from the driver's seat. Lastly, park your vehicle exactly where you want it and press the set button. That's it! Next time the driver approaches the Parking Sensor, they will see a green light indicating that it is safe to proceed, then a yellow light warning to slow down, and finally a red light when the chosen stopping point is reached. The STKR Parking Sensor eliminates the dents and dings from garage "fender benders" and allows you to safely close the garage door every time. Easy to install with the included double sided tape and Velcro, and adjustable between 6 inches and 6 feet. New upgraded version is powered by standard USB cord or 4 AA batteries (not included).

  • Almost indispensable for large car in smaller garage.
Pattern Name: Sensor Aid Style: Front
This works great. This is my second one - the first one worked fine for several years but I accidently damaged it (treat the sensor part carefully.) Once you get used to having help getting the car in the right place it was hard to do without it. I think the new one has brighter lights than the first one. Just go slow, there's not a lot of distance between green, yellow and red. Don't plan on using it with battery power though, batteries only last a few days. I already had a battery eliminator so I'm using that instead of the available usb port. The old one didn't have the usb option, so I had to buy a battery eliminator kit so I just used that on the new one. ... show more

  • Works well in the Garage
Pattern Name: Sensor Aid Style: Front
I brought this to park my car in the garage so that I could park perfectly and close the garage door without it hitting my car. It works perfectly for that. All you need to do is set it up on the wall, park your car about 12 inches from it, and push the red button. Then when you drive your car in the garage, it will turn green as your approach the wall, yellow as you get closer to the wall, and red when you get 12 inches from the wall. As a result, your car is parked perfectly in the garage, and you can close the garage door without it hitting your car. ... show more

  • Remember to charge it again and again
Pattern Name: Sensor Aid Style: Front
After owning this parking sensor aid it stopped working after the 30 day return period. I thought the unit was defective. The unit started to malfunction with lights burning out. Then began flashing green and no longer would change to yellow lights or the red lights as vehicle would approach. This was used inside the garage in a controlled dry environment. I also changed the four AA batteries and that didn't help. As I was about to toss into trash I noticed the USB charging port. Regardless of having batteries this unit also needs to be charged again to work properly. Once charged it works great again. I'm not sure what the 4 AA batteries are doing. ... show more

  • It doesn't last and short battery life
Pattern Name: Sensor Aid Style: Front
I got this about a year ago. I found that the battery life is not very long (and uses 4 batteries-so that adds up). I went on vacation and was gone for 6 weeks. I took the batteries out when I left and when I returned even new batteries could not get the thing to work again. I would not buy again. I love the concept, but use is not practical. Between short battery life, and life of the product itself, it just isn't worth the price ... show more

  • Perfect!
Pattern Name: Sensor Aid Style: Front
Easy to install and works perfectly. Just ease the vehicle up slowly and the second it turns red you are where you need to be.

  • Does not fit my garage door rails
Pattern Name: Sensor Aid Style: Side
So far one star. The clips seemed far too small to fit on my garage door tracks. The company should specify the size of the track this product fits in the description instead of assuming all tracks are the same size. After contacting the company, I came to realize that the clips would fit if I pushed very hard. The description should include the dimensions of the track this product is designed to fit, and a diagram or drawing of how to install the clips. Once I installed the clips, I discovered another, fatal, problem. On my garage door the fitting that attaches to the wire from the counterbalance spring wraps around the track and hits the clip for the side sensor as the door comes down. This product will not work with my garage door unless I find a way to mount the sensor to the wall of the garage instead of to the track. It would have saved me a lot of time, and Amazon and STKR a lot of money, if I had been told about this incompatibility before I purchased the sensors. As it is, the two sensors I purchased will probably have to be returned. I'm raising my rating from one start to three, because the sensors do work. But three stars instead of five due to the problems with the track discussed above, plus two additional issues. I managed to mount the clip that holds the sensor on a wood block using two #6 screws, and then I mounted that wood block on a stud next to the garage door. I am not using the door tracks at all. So, now on to the issues. The USB power cord provided with the sensor is 1 FOOT LONG! That is a joke. Even people who may have power outlets in their garages would not likely have one within one foot of the sensor. Why supply a UBS power cord at all if it is going to be ONE FOOT long? I have an outlet near the sensor, but I needed a 6-foot USB cord to connect from the adapter in the outlet to the sensor. The second additional issue is that the USB C power jack on the sensor is at the bottom of the ultrasonic sensor itself, not on the body of the device. The sensor is attached to the body with a rather fragile plastic arm. If the power cord is somehow snagged or pulled that could cause the arm with the sensor to break off of the main body. I can't figure out why any engineer would put a power socket on fragile arm instead of on the far more robust body of a device. ... show more

  • Makes parking a breeze - with or without the bike rack attached.
Pattern Name: Sensor Aid Style: Front
This is definitely a first-world problem, but parking the car in the garage varies dramatically between a bike rack and bikes fitted to the car vs. not. When the bikes are on the car's rear tow hitch, the car needs to be around 3 feet further forward in the garage to clear the door. A neighbor showed me this device and I immediately purchased one as they were on sale. It seems well-made and was very simple to install using the supplied Velcro for the main unit and the sensor below. There are two options for powering the unit, either 4 x AA batteries or via a USB cable. The unit is not supplied with a USB cable or power supply but most households now have a kitchen junk drawer that has plenty of these from other products. And if not they are readily available to buy at a low cost. I connect mine via the USB cable as there is an outlet close to where the unit was fitted. Setting up the parking distance is a simple case of pressing the red button on the front. I have it calibrated so I can easily judge the ideal parking distance for when the bikes are on the car, or not. Not sure how long the Velcro will stay stuck as the garage is hot during the summer but so far its staying put. Overall a great purchase. ... show more

  • Parking aid works every time.
Pattern Name: Sensor Aid Style: Front
The Stryker parking aid works great. I intended the batteries to just be a backup in case electricity is lost. After setting the stop setpoint, the red stop light comes on perfectly every time. There is a small piece of tape to mount the unit that I threw in the trash and used 3M extra strength tape. I still rate this instrument a 5. Just make sure you have a place to mount it. ... show more
