Love this little portable welding machine, very convenient to get around with and do small welding projects around the house/yard. Worked well to repair a metal fence. Only way it can be better is if it came with a complete starter kit of a few rods, gloves and goggles/mask.

This mini stick welder,not much bigger than my hand that packs a big punch.This is a mini stick welder for Dyi'ers.Great welding small jobs.This is perfect for fixing things around the house like fences or other things like I'm doing.Im building a canopy for a hummingbird feeder,I'm welding 1.5 mm L bracket to 1.5mm sheet metal and this does a great job.If you are welding something somewhat big,you have to let it cool down,I believe @ 40 amps you can weld for 6 minutes and have to let it cool down I won't be welding non stop with this welder but it's perfect for what I need it.This is a 110v only welder,it has a nice led screen and a shoulder strap.Both stinger and ground wires are about 6 ft each.I can't believe this portable stick welder is so small but packs a punch.I like this welder and can keep it in my trunk.Big thumbs up!

The media could not be loaded. Small easily portable to take with you for those small jobs. The manual leaves a bit to be desired because it doesn’t explain about some of the settings that the welder has. I contacted the manufacturer and they edited the photo that you see attached to this review stating what those settings are. How you get to them is by depressing, the amperage knob and rotating it to get to that particular item and then you can select the value for those three different settings by rotating the knob. Below quoted from the manufacturer is what they are please reference the annotated image of the front of the welder. They did say they will update the manual. “The settings on the right are Stick/Lift Tig, Hot Start, and Arc Force Function. Stick/Lift tig(max current:160A): When you use stick welding , you can adjust the welding current as you like. Hot start(max current: 60A): The function of hot start is to increase the welding current instantaneously to facilitate the arc start and ensure that the welding process can be carried out smoothly. Arc force(max current: 80A): By adjusting the arc force current, the welding rod is prevented from sticking to the workpiece when the welding current is small. When the welding current is greater than 110A, it is recommended to rotate the arc force current to 0, otherwise the spatter will increase. In addition, this feature is not available for welding thin sheets.“

got this just for minor home repairs like gates and some small automotive stuff . just make sure your outlet is at least 20A otherwise it will pop breaker immediately. and using an extension chord will affect performance. ( normal for 110 welders ) just so you know this is a very light duty welder so don’t expect to be welding big things but for basic home and some automotive use it works great .

The JZU Mini Welder 110V, MMA160 Stick Welding Machine really surprised me. It has the power of a bigger higher voltage welder. I am new to welding and teaching myself how to do it. I've only used a wire feed welder and was looking forward to learning how to stick weld. Unfortunately the welder doesn't come with any detailed operation instructions. The manual isn't very informative. And it didn't come with any electrodes to get you started. Hence the deduction of one star. The welder itself is tiny but packs a punch. I set it for the amperage recommended for the rods that I purchased and quickly burned a hole right through my project metal, and it wasn't thin metal. In fact it was some pretty stout stuff and didn't expect the welder to be able to burn through that easily but it did. Slight adjustment and I was able to draw a bead that looked like it was done with a 220v machine. Did I forget to mention this machine runs on 110v? Cool! It does come with a work clamp and the electrode holder and the hammer/wire brush to remove the slag. This welder is going to work well for me since I'm a beginner and not expecting to do anything too heavy duty. This machine will be perfect for light repair and small builds.

Very nice light portable welder for light jobs around the house or hobbyist. I have never welded and this was a great opportunity to learn some of the basics. The instruction manual is easy to understand, but it's not a manual that teaches you how to weld, it just provides instruction on how to use this particular welder. Read the instructions carefully before using. The manual clearly states it requires a 45 amp fuse. I first tried using it without knowing better on a 20 amp, and blew the fuse.

I don't have anything to compare it to; this is my first time using a welding machine. A buddy showed me how to use it, and it welded what I was expecting. So it works, and my buddy said it worked really good so I'll take his word for it.
