  • So worth it.
I am so glad I decided to get this. We had a small, one-child sized kitchen before this. Now that we have three kids (7, 4, 2), they would fight over space while trying to play with the old kitchen. This has fixed that. They all play together now, and they play with it multiple times a day (homeschooled). Yes, it took three days to put together, with much interruption. That being said, it was not *difficult* to put together. Just very time consuming. You need to sort the pieces into piles by their tens unit (1s, 10s, 20s... it will go to the 110s). Also, the directions don't always indicate when you need to use the wooden pegs they provide- you have to look extremely closely at the pictures in the instructions. But if you know that ahead of time, really, you'll be fine. My 7-almost-8 year old loved helping put it together as much as he loves playing with it now. I love all the decorating suggestions on these reviews. I followed a bunch of them- marble contact paper, wood contact paper, tile stickers, motion sensor puck lights (colored the oven one red with colored pencil), bronze spray paint for the handles etc. You have to put the contact paper on before you assemble those pieces, and then use your screwdriver to poke the holes back through. Try to use as few pieces of contact paper as possible so you don't have peeling (one-two big pieces rather than many small pieces). I find this to be as sturdy as any Melissa and Doug style toy. It is not hardwood-hardwood, but so long as your kids aren't smashing this kitchen with a hammer or something, it is going to be just fine. ... show more

  • Took A Little Effort, But Worth It!
I don't generally write reviews, but this play kitchen is simply great and my granddaughter loves it. The instructions are a bit cryptic but once you figure out how to interpret them it's fairly easy. I recommend starting with the refrigerator because it is stand alone and relatively straight forward. You need to review the plans carefully, particularly the sheet with the items that need to be prepped before installing and take your time. The product is well engineered and fits together almost perfectly. It made of wood and uses dowels and screws to make a very sturdy and attractive "kitchen". Note that it takes at least two people to put together. ... show more

  • Super cute and has alot of room for multiple kids to play.
The media could not be loaded. We didnt find this very hard to put together like others have said. It was fairly easy and the instructions were pretty strait forward to me. I started by lining up all the parts by number in order. There were about 5 parts with no numbers but they were fairly easy to find by looking at the pictures. The first page has you prep the paices with little wooden dowels and some of the hardware. This part is easier with 2 people so one can fetch the part and the other can prep the part and then put it back in its numbered spot. Then I has the screws and instructions and my husband fetched the parts I needed and I put the parts together while he fetch the next peices. Like everyone we would be interrupted by kids so one of us would be left to work alone and that slowed down the process alot. It didn't take long to put together for its size. Maybe a few hours. The kids love it. They play drive through, kitchen and resteraunt. The open area is perfect as an ordering counter so we put a cash register there and it's a store or resteraunt. This works well since we have 3 kids under 5. They all have a place to play and a job like cook. Cashier, waiter and customer. The material is light weight which is good for a kitchen this size. Any heavier and it would be too heavy to scoot around if you needed. I see alot of people say its cheaply made but for me I like how light it is so if the kids want it facing a diffent way I can scoot it. I included a short video of play and all the parts lined up. ... show more

  • Beautiful kitchen, 8 hours of professional assembly required
If I had realized how many hours of labor it would require to assemble this, I never world have purchased it. Add a full 8 hour day of labor to the cost. Pretty, but buyer beware. ETA: Hasn't held up great to rough play. Th handles came off already and the paint has chipped a little. It also has some sharp corners. Fridge leaves a lot to be desired. ... show more

  • Follow the directions!!
First off this thing is massive. Lots of pieces so take them out and put them in order, best in piles of 10s. When you break out the instructions there is a pre step, it isn't labeled, but it shows all the dowel rods and where they go. Do this step! It will save you. It is very easy to put together, just takes some time. Do not use a electric screwdriver on anything plastic (learned this the hard way). You can use it for everything else, just not plastic pieces. Take your time! They have excellent customer service too so if you are missing a piece, contact them and you will have it within 2 days. This thing is amazing put all together and my son loves it so much!! ... show more
