When we were creating our play kitchen area we were looking for good quality and durable pots and pans, and let me tell your these did not disappoint. It is sooooo worth every penny! They are so well made that to this day they look brand new. We love how real they look and feel. My kids love playing with these on a daily basis, and no matter how much they play they look so good. After a month of searching for the perfect stainless steel cookware set for my daughter's all-in-one-kitchen from PBK, I took a risk and ordered the Melissa and Doug Let's Play House set after reading the one and only review which gave 3stars because of size. That seemed to be the biggest complaint of nearly every metal cookware set online. The product description on Amazon and other websites does not provide dimensions, so for those who want specifics, the pots and pans are 5" in diameter from lip to lip. They are about 1-2" larger than most sets, and the pieces are 1-2" smaller than the pieces from PBK, which are much more expensive. I had initially planned on buying the stainless set sold at PBK, but when I saw the pans in person, I decided they were too big for the all-in-one-kitchen and were too long to hang from the display hooks above the kitchen's mini sink. I looked at the Alex Completer Cook Set in a local toy shop and felt the pieces were tiny and flimsy, although cute. I worried other sets by Alex would be similar. I considered the Kidkraft set after reading its positive reviews, but I didn't want/need the included play food; plus, I prefer wooden utensils since some reviewers said the metal utensils in the Kidkraft set were too sharp. Another reason I chose this set is because I wanted a mini colander. It's cute and a decent size for Haba playfood. The storage rack and presentation makes this set ideal for gift-giving. I know my daughter will love having cookware that looks like Mama's, and I'm thrilled to have found a quality product that contains no toxins or chipping paint, and that is large enough for "washing" and "cooking" play food, but not so large that it dwarfs my daughter's play kitchen (similar in size to Kidkraft's retro kitchen). I bought this for my then 9-month-old, hoping it would keep him entertained. Now that we’ve had it for 6+ weeks, he’s enjoying it more and more. I want him to have well-made and educational toys, and Melissa & Doug always delivers. Great for sensory development! He’s at the stage where everything goes in his mouth, and I love that I don’t have to worry about the quality of the materials with this set. I’m also not worried that something will break, which is a big relief. I also want to give Melissa & Doug a shoutout for packaging. There wasn’t a bunch of unnecessary excess plastic to get through when opening, and this design allows the entire set to “nest” and store so easily! ... show more

These really are amazing, they look like some pots and pans I could use on my own stove. If your kid loves sounds too, these have a nice genuine sound that they will have heard from you in the kitchen, and will try to play with. I’m mainly excited for how high quality they are, my son can use them for years and I know that when my future kids play with them they’ll still look great! ... show more

My one year old LOVES food and pretending to cook with me in the kitchen. Was looking at all the different sets, and was leaning toward this one for a while when suddenly it was on a lightning sale and I snatched one up. Wvery bit worth the full price though! We find these pots and pans with various items in them all over the house all day every day now. The pans are very sturdy, handles included. The wooden utensils are the perfect size for little hands to practice stirring and “flipping”. They’re holding up amazingly to months of toddler smashing and banging. None of the handles are loose, no dents in the pans, and neither of the utensils have splintered or chipped. For reference- my child has either smashed or bitten off chunks of almost every (adult) wooden utensil I own. Even the gigantic walnut wood spoon I have got a big chip in the spoon part after I gave it to him to play with ONCE. These things are truly perfect! The little rack is great for learning to put things away when he’s finished too. Another Melissa&Doug win, would absolutely recommend! ... show more
