  • Awesome optics from Steiner!
Style: 10x50 Pattern: Binoculars
Excellent optics. Crisp, bright and super clear image from 66 ft to infinity once adjust the diopters separately for each eye. Not for closed up viewing like birding. German made β†’ best craftsmanship. Worth to own for general use. Will recommend to everyone. Updating after a year of use (01/10/2019): Excellent quality of binoculars. Nothing breaks or looses because there is no moving parts. The eye piece diopter rings once adjust for your eyes then they are done - just pick them up and view your distance subjects without any further adjustment. Again, German optics are the best in the world and with military quality, they will last for a lifetime. ... show more

The most that I like about the steiner 1050's is that you don't have to adjust them every time you use them. Once you seto them the first time you are good to go from then on. Second best thing I like about them is how clear they are to look through. Least think is the weight, but I can live with that. ... show more

Style: 10x50 Pattern: Binoculars
First i thought is is a fake version, because nowhere on the packaging i can find the words Made in Germany. Where was it made? Still don't know, but when you look through them you immediately see that is is the real deal. Very good binoculars - no question! I would buy them again.

  • Not a good fit for my binocular needs
Style: 10x50 Pattern: Binoculars
I bought these based on the all the rave reviews here on Amazon. But when I received it and tried it out for size I realized pretty quickly that this pair of Military & Marines 10x50 binos are just not a good fit for me. It is very heavy and bulky. It is not built like a tank. It IS a tank! Not a good fit for my hands either. Noticeable chromatic aberration (CA) with color fringing on the edges of the objects that I viewed. Not as bad as the Vortex Diamondback. But a bit worse than the Nikon Monarch and a lot worse than the Bushnell Legend L-Series. The Bushnell is the best out of this group by the way. It has very wide depth of field as compared to the others. But I would not say that it has "auto focus". In fact I feel that it's misleading to advertise as such. Basically you focus it to say 20 yards then keep it there using the diopter adjustment for each eye one at a time, and you get "so so" sharpness over a wide range of distances with the best focus at whatever object that you focused on. Focusing with the diopter adjustments on both eyes, one at a time, are very slow and clumsy IMHO and not as good, fast, nor convenient as the center focus knob that the other binos use. I prefer the other binos focusing mechanism better. They are better at getting me a perfect focus at whatever objects that I view and let me quickly refocus. By the way in case you wonder where these are made, I looked all over the box, manuals, as well as the binos themselves, and there is no "Made in ..." statement anywhere. So the country where these were manufactured remains a mystery to me. These binoculars are a poor fit for me. Your mileage may vary. ... show more
