    • Phenomenal speakers, works with Linux

The arena 7 speakers are simply phenomenal. The sound quality is amazing. Clear, no distortion, punchy bass. Music, games, movies, you name it sounds fantastic. The speakers themselves look awesome. They do have rgb but it’s nicely done. Especially paired next to my monitor it helps provide background lightning. It has aux, toslink, and usb connectivity. All three work but if you use this on your desktop just use the usb cable. The arena 7 has its own built DAC along with its own DSP. The DAC that’s built in is developed around the DSP. Either way you connect to it, all sound will be routed through its DSP. It’s DAC is a 24 bit /48khz Realtec DAC and paired with these speakers it sounds fantastic. I am using these on Linux via USB and it works out of the box. I did initially test on Windows 11 and on Linux they behave and sound identical to on Windows. The DAC is a standard USB audio on both so both have full, identical audio functionality. Overall compatibility with these speakers is fantastic. The unit I was sent was listed as in “excellent” condition and I think that’s an understatement because at least the unit I received I would state pristine condition instead. I honestly thought it was new. I’m highly impressed. Overall they are well worth the money. I love these speaker. Especially on Linux with its built in DAC just working out of the box. ... show more

    • Good Value For Renewed Speakers
Bought this renewed. No damages to the item. The speakers + subwoofer sound quality was comparable to my normal tv sound system. The subwoofer is a little bulky to place on the desk. LED lights adds to the ambience of the space.

    • Great Sounding Speakers (Refurbished)
tl;dr: Great sounding speakers with great bass and full sound, but you have to use the SteelSeries GG software to access equalizer settings. I needed a new set of 2.1 speakers for my PC, and these fit the bill. I didn't quite want to spend the full retail price so I went with refurbished. I've had some luck with various refurbed earbuds from eBay so what the heck, let's give these a try. I did look at reviews from the Amazon retail page and some people said they didn't have enough bass, etc. These absolutely have great sounding bass, you just have to use the SteelSeries GG software to get to the equalizer. I adjusted the sound and they have a great, full sound. I'm not a fan of having to install software (if you don't already have any SteelSeries products), I believe you should be able to adjust the bass separately. Like how hard is it to throw a volume knob on the subwoofer? Anyway, I already had a SteelSeries keyboard so the software was already installed. I use Prism to control the RGBs and it flows nicely with the keyboard and my gaming lighting setup. So the speakers sound great. If you don't want to spend full retail, the refurb price is a little easier to swallow. But don't buy them if you're not willing to install the software to access the equalizer settings. ... show more

    • Misleading Item Name
I feel like I was scammed. I thought I was ordering factory new, the misleading item name/description tricked me into purchasing something used. Unit was scratched and dusty, the speaker in the sub box showed obvious signs of removal and had screws not seated and crooked.

I got this set from the renewed Amazon store, came in in great physical condition, no signs of mayor repairs on the outside, even came with the original steelseries branded cables, no scratches or anything, seems to be working fine for the moment, no original box but that’s to be expected.
