  • No different than a brand new pair
If you’re on the fence about buying a renewed product, you’d be surprised at how brand new this product felt after I got it out of the box. The item itself does come in a generic brown box but inside you’ll find all the standard accessories that come with it which is the usb c cables, the steel series DAC, a furry muffler for your mic, an extra battery, manuals and the headset itself. None of the included items had any wear, no scratches of signs of use. The headset itself has a slightly better sound profile than the previous Arctis Pro headset. It definitely doesn’t command a $300 price tag that it’s originally sold at. Pros: - ability to have a wide or closed sound stage using Spatial Audio - Support for high bit rate audio, great if you listen to tidal or have lossless audio - Steelseries GG software lets you tune the EQ really well and creates virtual sound profiles so you can easily switch between gaming, media, chat, etc. - These in my opinion are much more comfortable than the last generation. The headband and ear cups are softer and you can wear these for hours. - The mic with voice isolation works really well, as long you pull out the mic and place it properly. Some people forget that it has a pull out boom mic. - The spare battery ready to go in case your headset runs out is a life saver. It’s always charged and very easy swap out. Con’s: - The ANC is average, honestly think it’s not even worth turning on. There’s enough sound isolation without it - The DAC OLED screen can’t be turned off. This is a major problem because it can burn in over time. I have to annoyingly unplug it every time to save the screen. - Steel series GG hijacks your sound profiles on window and this can be confusing trying to set defaults, also the software is a bit of memory hog. I wouldn’t recommend installing it if you can’t handle it and the headset works amazing well even without the EQ customizations. ... show more

  • The Best Headphones I’ve Had
These are amazing! I used to use Turtle Beach for a lot of my life. I recently bought a SteelSeries keyboard and was impressed with the quality (Apex Pro). I ended up seeing this headset for a great deal, and dropped the $200 or so on them. For starters - the sound quality is amazing. I am able to get super immersed in the games, movies, and shows that I enjoy. The headset itself is super comfortable. The band has some adjustments on it, but I haven’t had to use them at all. The ear cushions are comfortable, but still breathable. There is no ear aches or pains even after hours of consecutive gameplay. My cat tends to beat up my personal items by dropping them off the counter, etc. these headphones have held up to the test of time and cat super well! Amazing durability for a product like this! The batteries last pretty long. I get a solid week of gameplay without changing the battery (3-4 days a week, maybe 4-6 hours per session max). This particular headset came with 3 batteries, even though it usually only comes with 2, so that was a bonus! All-in-all this is a super amazing headset with all sorts of functionalities (Bluetooth, Active Noise Canceling, extended mic, mute button, etc.), that is definitely worth its price (especially if there’s a sale) ... show more

  • I doubt you’re strapped for cash buying these so just get new ones I doubt you’re strapped for cash buying these so just get new ones
Headphones themselves are nice. Now buying refurbished I didn’t expect gold, but I did expect a little more. These showed up in an Amazon box with no real padding for the transport. Most refurbished I’ve purchased through Amazon have come with original packaging. They were also advertised as “like new” but showed up with a significant amount of blemishes. I also received only 1 working battery of the 2. Which upon reading, the batteries were a weak point. Maybe test them first? - both (technically 1) was also dead out of the box so I had to wait a while to use the headset. Setup was poor, couldn’t get the headset to stop beeping for an hour after waiting for batteries to charge. Honestly save your money and get new or go with Astro a40s ... show more

  • 1st refurb had bad BT: distorted, poor connectivity, then died on day 3. 2nd set is wonderful.
The Bluetooth amplification section of the headphones was completely blown when I got the first set. At first things sounded scratchy like it was using the very first BT protocol ever tested. Realized it has no APT-X or anything else mentioned, and was sad that they have crappy BT. By day 3 it refused to work. I could hear what was streaming at about 1% volume - the BT amp had clearly died completely. Luckily that happened fast so I just did an Amazon swap. 2nd headset is perfect. BT and Xbox blend better than any previous set I've had (Turtlebeach, Anker Soundcore, Bose). The desktop contol unit is great, and you can control most of it from the headset also (wheel is also an enter button but it lacks a back button). You can control sounds with presets or just edit the 12 or 16 band EQ by hand. Awesome for me who likes a mostly flat response but needs a boost in the high end as I get older. And tweaking the bass so it's nice but doesn't crunch is handy. Very comfortable, but a fabric type cup would be worth considering as an upgrade if the fake leather causes skin issues. ... show more

  • The best pair of gaming headphones i have ever owned
I have owned more than a few gaming headsets over the years. From Astro, to Razer, Xbox and Sony branded, and the like. Most recently the contender was the Audeze Maxwell headset, which while phenomenal, was just a bit heavy for prolonged use, and lacks the feature set of this headset. I purchased these a second time for the Mrs. after feeling confident they would hold up a long time. Where to begin? well, the sound quality is great, number one. In a headset that's pretty high on the list of things to look for. The comfort, REALLY great., Especially with some after market earcups. I went with cushions from Wicked Cushions ( you can find them on Amazon, I have no affiliation ). The reason for this was i found the ones bundled to get a bit hot and the aftermarket ones just solve that. A really large feature that never gets old is the hub that serves the purpose of digital EQ display, volume, balancing, wireless connectivity, and battery charger. The headset comes with two batteries, that each last a long long time on a full charge, but most importantly, you ALWAYS have one charged and ready to go. Gone are the days of having to tether for a session because you forgot to charge the headset or put it on a dock. You always swap them out with one another so it just removes that issue. One thing I am using constantly on the headset, as many people do, is the mute button. The retractable microphone on the headset has LED light that emits red when it's muted, making for a quick and easy glance to know you are muted. For anyone who needs to take care of personal things in the middle of game time, that peace of mind is actually more worth it than you might think. There are multiple pieces of the headset that you can swap out for custom colors and a more personalized look as well. The earcup covers that hide the battery and usb port, and the head strap are easily changed out. It also has the ability to dual pair to your phone through bluetooth, so you can pipe in music or take a phone call while using it with your PC or console. Overall honestly this is THE gaming headset I would recommend to pretty much everyone willing to shell out a few bucks for one that works with all the things ( PC, Xbox, PS ). Could not be happier, and the two my wife and I have get lots of use and enjoyment :-) ... show more

  • Disappointing for such an pricey headset [PS5 / PS5 Pro]
TL;DR: Returned my refurbished pair - one battery didn't charge and it looked very well used for >$200. Some PS5 / PlayStation 5 Pro Notes (headset and base station upgraded to latest firmware): The base station is basically pointless, apart from charging the battery (when it works). Everything other than the display feels low quality for a premium price (like the battery insert). Yes, it adjusts the volume ... but so does the headset itself. At minimum I was hoping to use the base station to balance game and voice chat, but that is only supported on PC. Sure. it's a Sony thing that only works on their headsets, but I wish that was clearer. ANC is poor - at times, I couldn't tell if it was active or not without checking the setting via the base station. Build quality is great, but that's about all that sets it apart. I didn't find it any less or more comfortable than other headsets I own (Jabra, Sennheiser, Bose, Sony). Returned it and went back to my Sony Inzone H9 wireless headset. ... show more

  • Great wireless headset, pricey but I will forever love the swappable battery feature.
The wireless hiss from the regular Arctis Pro Wireless is GONE. I kind of miss it because now all I hear is my tinnitus when I put this thing on. Noise cancellation is not the best, but it does its job decently and the transparency is useful for when I leave my room with my headset on and someone starts to talk to me. A quick two clicks of the power button and transparency is ON. A single click, it swaps to noise cancellation. The only issue I had with it initially was weird, high pitched warbled sounds coming from the battery in my right ear whenever I'd use custom EQ settings. It was very faint, but enough to drive me crazy in silent scenarios. That WAS until I went onto the steelseries website, downloaded their GG program and saw that there was a firmware update for my headset. I was going to return the headset entirely but the firmware update fixed the issue completely, just SILENCE now when using those EQ settings. I guess there was an "issue" where the Nova sets my Windows 10 volume to 100 and doesn't allow me to change it, but I read that it's because you can lose some audio quality setting the volume that way, and it's better to just control the volume directly from the base station. All in all 8.5/10 headset - again, noise cancellation is not the best but it works. Ear cups were alright, but I purchased some third-party airweave ones for $30 that are also bigger and they fit perfectly. ... show more

  • Tough to beat these!
These headphones are beasts. The sound quality is on par with audio file headsets that cost way more. The battery life is excellent and with the hot swappable battery packs where you can charge one while using the other so you can swap them out and have no down time and no charging cables while you play. The microphone is super crisp. It slides back into the headset really well and tucks away. These are super comfortable. There is a nub in the center. I think for the Tweeter that if you have the headset on just right you can kind of feel it poke into your ear a little bit but it doesn't bother me. I just position the headset so I don't feel that but that might be an issue for other people. Overall, these things are incredible, customizable and well worth the price. ... show more
