These are astonishingly good by the standards of true wireless earphones and hold their own against comparable and much more expensive wired IEMs. If you value sound quality over all else, you’ll likely be satisfied—and in terms of other TWS features, they’re still great. There are a couple of issues I feel grumpy about that I’ll get to at the end, but in general I can’t recommend Status Pro X enough. Let’s start with what is the most important to me — sound quality. I am accustomed to audiophile sound, and it has made it hard for me to enjoy music on gear that does not provide the level of detail and the kind of frequency responses I am accustomed to. I own Hifiman Ananda Stealth, Focal Elex, and Aune SR-7000, and I’ve owned other great audiophile headphones. My wired IEMs are the Thie Audio Oracle Mk III, which runs $600 and has 6 drivers, and I used to own the Xenns Tea Pro, which runs $350 and has 8 drivers. I use the Oracle when I’m on the go, which is inconvenient because I can’t take calls, there is only passive isolation, and I have a chunky wire running to my phone or portable amplifier. For a long time, I’ve wanted the convenience of true wireless earphones without compromising on the sound quality and I just figured it wouldn’t be possible for some time to come. That time has arrived. Although I haven’t tried some of the other high-end true wireless headphones, I can confidently say that the Status Pro X is an audiophile-grade true wireless headphone. It is more detailed and resolving than the Xenns Tea Pro IEM, and it gets 80% of the way to the quality of the Oracle MkIII. Out of the box, its stock tuning is a soft implementation of the V-shaped frequency response most consumer grade earphones offer, and I was surprised at how good it sounds. The “audiophile” setting is basically a competent, inoffensive implementation of the Harman target, and the Knowles Preferred is more focused on upper mids and high treble. None of these are perfect, but because there’s a decent 8-band EQ in the app, I was able to quickly optimize the Knowles Preferred setting to dial in my preferred sound quite easily (taming the 14khz treble, slightly damping mids). And I just could not be more pleased with the sound at this price point, especially given that this is a true wireless headphone. The sound is balanced, impactful, and fun. It reminds me a lot of the Focal sound, where upon my first listen I had trouble skipping to another song to try a different sound or calling it a night and taking them off. As engaging as they are, they are still refined. I am just blown away by the level of timbral quality and detail they deliver across every instrument, and especially with the instrument separation and soundstage. Regarding that, I have A/B’ed these a dozen times against my Oracle MkIII using Hotel California live (cliché as it is), and the differences demonstrate the law of diminishing returns: the Status Pro X gets to 80% of what the Oracle can do for half the price. The biggest difference is actually not in soundstage, but in the timbre. With the Oracle you can hear a more rounded, multi-dimensional quality in the guitar plucking, and the bongo drums sound spatially more separated. But note that the relatively lower detail of the Status Pro X is not necessarily a bad thing — the bongos hit much harder, and not much is lost with the guitar. Also, what am I doing comparing a $600 wired IEM to a $300 true wireless headphone? Another anecdote while I am raving: I was listening to a podcast interview recorded in a concert hall and could hear a woman cough in the audience and instantly envisioned her sixth row stage right. On a side note, I was ready to buy the Technics AZ-100 until I learned about the way that its “microfluid” driver artificially dampens the natural distortion that brings life to certain instruments, especially electric guitar; the YouTube channel DHRME recorded this and I immediately hard passed on it, and I’m glad I found the Status Pro X instead. And now I'm even considering selling my Oracle MkIII. For all the other things: ANC is as good as anything I’ve had before (most recently the Jabra Active Elite 8 and a couple of different previous Jabra generations), although it could do just a tiny bit better at silencing outside treble. The hear-through/ambient is just out of this world. I have been told that the call quality is crystal clear, although I do know that it picks up wind and I have not tried the wind reduction feature. The connections are effortless and drama-free. The touch controls are reliable and responsive (the buttons don’t do much; you can’t reprogram them and their functionality is limited, and they’re hard to press). The drawbacks are few. First, you can only use the touch controls to switch between ANC and ambient; to access a default mode, you have to switch in the app. The battery life is not the best, but it’s perfectly adequate; I am a little bit surprised at how fast the case battery can drain, but again, perfectly adequate. These compromises are tiny when you consider the music quality. Now the stuff I’m grumpy about. The main thing is it doesn’t come with enough ear tips. The large ones didn’t form it great seal on my left ear, and the insertion depth doesn’t provide the passive isolation and stability I want (it felt like they would fall out, even though they wouldn’t). Worse than that, they are cheap and flimsy. I was really annoyed that I had to research ear tips and find something that had a wide bore and increased depth while still fitting in the case; the Azla Sednafit Short does the job, but ultimately it was some random pair of tips from a grab bag I got for 6 bucks last year that worked best. They fit in the case, just barely. But I just think it’s so obnoxious to sell a premium product and skimp on the essentials like this. I also think such a premium product should have a 2-year warranty. Those grumbles aside, I couldn’t be happier with this product, and I just hope it holds up beyond the 1 year for which it is warranted.

I usually spend $28 on Tozo NC9 buds. They are not bad, but these have advantages. Superior noise canceling whether Im riding a motorcycle or working around heavy equipment. They are louder and clearer. They still break up a little if I bump up the bass in custom eq, so I stick with presets. The customization of the side tap is helpful. I used one side only on calls inside a loud peterbuilt and had no complaints. The find feature is useful although it only works on buds out of case.. My motorcycle commute is amazing, the wind reduction is better than tozo. The only con, nc9 lasts 7.5 hours, I got less than 5 the 1st day with these, but you can't have it all. With anc 5 hours is max, but I had 100% within an hour charging. The base needs charging daily, and unlike tozo, does not tell you percentages on case. Also, once they power off, you have to put them back in the case and remove them to reconnect. I also found the app needs reconnecting often. So I end up using the app more. One really big advantage is once the settings are in the app, they stay even after powering off. They fit great and never need to be pushed in, tozo wanted to fall out. I used both buds in a loud crane, my friend told me he barely heard any background noise during a call and I heard him like we were in the same room. I am a light sleeper, I used them in a noisy hotel room, fell asleep no problem, the find feature really helps locating them in the morning. These are amazing. I'm happy with the purchase, sweated all over them and no problems. Glad I spent $200, get them while they are on sale... Update, I have been flying a lot, waiting to board a guy was talking loud on his phone right next to me, put them in 2 notches below full volume as usual, I could no longer hear him. They really are great for blocking out the World!

These Status Pro X earbuds are insane—well worth the upgrade from the Between 3ANC. To break it down simply: THE PROS: • Insane battery life. One earbud easily lasts me an entire 6 to 7-hour shift at work. (The case battery could last a bit longer, but I use them a lot, so that might just be a me thing). • Phenomenal connectivity and very, very good noise cancellation. • Great comfort, especially if you opt for memory foam ear tips like I did. • Awesome colors. I went with the black and gray, but the moonbeam option is dope too. • The Status Hub app makes the experience so much better. The customizable EQ is definitely the way to go so the sound works for you. THE CONS & THE SENSOR: • My biggest gripe is the ear-detection sensor. Because these earbuds are small, it’s really easy for your fingers to accidentally touch it and restart your music mid-conversation. It even activates if you just set the earbud down on a table. • The sensor gets weird with videos (like TikTok or YouTube). Sometimes it pauses the video, but when you put the earbud back in, it randomly starts playing whatever music you were listening to before the video. It's a "take it or leave it" feature. • I also miss the interchangeable wingtip sizes from the older model, as those added a really nice, secure fit. CRUCIAL FIT TIP: • You absolutely have to find the perfect-sized ear tip for your ear. • I initially used the large ear tips thinking they would be better, but they were consistently loose and often fell out. • Once I swapped them out for the mediums, not only have they yet to fall out even once, but the actual sound quality got so much better—to the point where the bass hits way harder and cleaner. Trust me on that, the right size completely changes the audio.

I had the last model the 3ANC. The Pro X is a leap forward. The sound is perfectly balanced. There's a larger 'sweet spot' when they're in your ears. Last model had to basically be completely in your ear canal to sound right for bass. The silicone tips are super comfortable. I usually upgrade to foam tips but feel I don't need them for this model. Noise cancelation is on par with AirPods. Was cooking dinner and couldn't even hear the vent running inches from my head. Overall, great set of earbuds!

Great earbuds if you have extra money for them! Clean sound with some bass that will suffice for most. My only complaint about the earbuds is that you cant fully make a custom EQ because it has some sort of ear protection feature that limits what you can tune it too. Great call quality whenever I talk with my friends and family they say they can hear me even in loud areas like restaurants or in crowded areas. If you plan on using these while windy outside the microphones get overwhelmed and the people on the other line have issue hearing you so stay out of windy areas and you will be fine. Noise canceling is great for earbuds maybe not the best in the game but as long as your listening to music you shouldn't hear anything major. Battery life atleast for me seems reasonable as I only use them a few hours at a time. The earbuds are comfortable in ear and cant even feel they are there. Connection seems to be good for now ill update if I have problems later. The fit is comfortable and have different ear tips to accommodate most.

DO NOT BUY OR TRY! Let's get the positives out of the way. There are not that many. - Sound quality is good, probably better than most in the same price range. - Noise cancelling was effective. It easily blocks out most of the background noise around me when I'm walking or in the office. - Fit was great. It worked well for me out of the box. I didn't have to change ear tips or make any adjustments. They are comfortable, most of the time. The Negatives, and deal breakers for me. - Presets all sound the same. I'm looking for something with a little more bass. Unfortunately, the default provides the most. Customization is confusing. So, if you'll need to search online for some help. - Connectivity is terrible. I have the earbuds connected to my phone for music and to my work laptop for conference calls, meetings, etc. Oftentimes, I can connect one but not the other. - Switching between devices frustrating. In other earbuds, when I take a call from my laptop, the music on my phone would pause and the laptop becomes my primary audio source. These earbuds will take 2 second pause then start again. So, now I have someone trying to talk to me while music is playing from the phone. - Taking calls is a frustrating experience. On nearly every call, there's a notification sound. Looking at both my phone and laptop, there was no new notification. I also have all notifications muted. This notification sound would break the connection. Sometimes only one earbud would return with audio. Other times, both return with audio but out of sync so it creates an "echo". - Noise cancelling will turn off randomly half the time. It's fine on one call, but on the next call it's not there. If I'm not already connected to my phone, now I have to connect and use the app to toggle it on. - The app is simple but ineffective. I will have the earbuds connected, open the app and it still doesn't know and let me into settings. Frequently, I have to close the app and relaunch. - Battery life is terrible. I walked the dog for 45 minutes with music and noise cancelling on. It went from 100% to 80% in 45 minutes. The charging case will probably give you two full charges, at most. - The earbuds fit is great, but you cannot wear it for a long time. Due to the shape, the top corner is pretty much poking your ear and after a couple hours, it becomes painful. - The charging case is not balanced. It can't sit upright on its own. - Based on how the earbuds are supposed to sit in the charging case, you cannot take the earbuds out of your ears and into the case in a smooth motion. You pretty much have to twist your hand or the case. This was a regretful purchase. I gave too much credits to those online influencers and the fake reviews. I wish I could say negative points above were all bugs or I just received a bad one. Unfortunately, these are all design decisions. I'm disappointed with this company for putting such a bad and obviously version 1 of a product. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND AGAINST THIS DEVICE or anything from this company. I would not hesitate to return these earbuds, even for half price, if I could.

In comparison with my Dre Beats Fit Pro, I’m extremely impressed with the performance of these buds. You can customize the sound using the equalizer via the Status app. One downside is that they don’t fit so securely in my ears, so I’m still testing in this regard. However, my initial assessment is that this is a good product. Need to evaluate battery life and noise canceling on the plane, but after a few days of evaluation, I’m happy.
