  • Make sure your cables are good.
I'm using this with a PC connected via HDMI + USBA and my M1 Macbook Pro via USBC. Both are picking up 100hz on my 3440X1440 monitor. On the Mac side, everything works as expected. Seems smooth, no flicker. On the PC side, the connection would randomly drop out. I bought 2 HDMI cables for this, not knowing that 1 was included. So I switched the cable with my spare and it was still dropping out. Finally, I grabbed the HDMI cord from my PS5 and things worked better. Apparently the cables I bought were faulty, but the included cable still wasn't handling things well. Replaced with another high-speed cable and haven't had an issue since. It is annoying to have the output port on the opposite side of the box. I'd love to see them all on the same side. It's hard to hide the cables when they're coming out every direction. -1 star because the included HDMI cable just doesn't handle the data throughput it advertises. ... show more

  • Works seamlessly
I got this for PC desktop and Apple MacBook Pro. Installation was easy, design is simple and sleek, and works as expected. If I were to rate the KVM alone, it is 5 Stars, and I recommend purchasing this for those who have the same setup as mine. However, the included HDMI cable did not support 4K 60Hz output - it worked fine with either 2K 60Hz or 4K 30Hz, but 4K 60Hz kept flickering. I purchased a separate HDMI 2.0 cable, and now it works perfectly. ... show more

  • Worked perfectly right out of the box!
It's always a pleasure and a relief when a tech product, especially one that's serving a complicated purpose, works 100% right out of the box, as this StarTech KVM did. I have it as the KVM switch between my home computer (standard USB connection) and my Surface 7 Pro (USB-C connection). Everything worked exactly as I expected and right away. The box included the three necessary cables. Also, since some people have asked in the Questions about whether it will work with a Logitech unified wireless mouse and keyboard, the answer is, "Yes, perfectly." ... show more

  • Glitchy. Not able to power RGB keyboard.
My daughter put together a PC for gaming, but we wanted to keep it in a public area to keep track of her usage - so I needed this KVM to share a screen, keyboard and mouse with our living room Mac Mini (M1). The idea is great; a single USB-C to the Mac and the HDMI and USB to the PC… only three cables, plus keyboard (wireless mouse). Unfortunately, because this is bus powered, it did not have enough power to drive a Steelseries Apex Pro RGB keyboard and Logitech unifying receiver (mouse). The keyboard would cut out and back in again every few seconds during use - which made this unusable. It did work with a less powerful RGB keyboard (not customizable), for what that is worth. However and even worse, when the PC was powered off, the KVM refused to switch to the Mac. That defeats the whole point of having a KVM. I returned it and purchased one that has its own power supply (not bus powered) that is working fine so far. ... show more

  • Under powered for gaming keyboards. HDMI issues
Since its USB bus powered it does not provide enough power to my Loictech G910 gaming keyboard. Leds on keyboard don't stay lit and some keys (alt) don't work. If this had dc power going in, it might work. HDMI is also kind of flacky.

  • working flawlessly!
perfect solution to screen and keyboard / mouse share between my wife's work laptop (HP) and our existing desktop. only little hitch is that the box doesn't work between the HP hub and the shared devices, the box must be used instead of the hub. not really a deal killer just something to be aware of. but, it works well, design is nice, build quality is good and it's nice and slim (with ports on the correct sides). cables are included however I had to use some I had already as the included aren't that long. ... show more

  • Can't find a complaint about this switch
It does exactly everything it claims and works every time for me. I use M1 MBP via thunderbolt, windows via usb/hdmi. I've not had this fault yet, and switching is very quick. Especially compared to other switches where there are so many problems, this one is super solid. I do wish that it had keyboard key switching, but I knew that it didn't when I bought it so I can't cut the stars short for this. Excellent switch. ... show more

  • Introduced video "sparkles" through HDMI connection on 2560x1440 monitor
Wanted this to work for me, but it doesn't really. The HDMI connection from my desktop gets "sparkles" in the picture that don't exist when I use the same HDMI cable and connect directly between the monitor and the computer. With the KVM switch there seems to be a bandwidth problem--I know it's rated for this (I'm only running at 2560x1440@60Hz) but it doesn't work. Too bad. If you're just at 1920x1080 you should be fine. Other reviewers have gotten better video throughput than I experienced, so YMMV. I should note that the USB-C video input from my laptop out through the built in HDMI worked fine, so it half worked. ... show more
