DIRECTIONS: If the surface to be waterproofed is dirty or stained, clean it with Star brite Sail & Canvas Cleaner. Fabric to be treated must be dry. Apply enough Waterproofing with the included sprayer, brush, or sponge to thoroughly wet the top surface. Take care to avoid overspray, drips, or penetration onto surfaces not being treated. Allow the treated item to dry for 6 hours before using. Do not fold or store the treated item until dry. Use only in a well-ventilated area. Not for use on hard, non- porous materials or plastic tarps which cannot absorb liquids.

What a deal when you can find great prices like I did! This is an excellent waterproofing for canvas. 2 gallons will do an entire large pavilion of 16X16 with a peaked roof. You can spray this in a pump garden sprayer. It goes on easily, drys quick enough, no long wait. All you need is a nice dry sunny day. I have a very old 9x14 tent that has seen a lot of use on Cub Scout and Boy Scout trips. After an unfortunate winter camp where the fly and walls ceased to be water resistant, I purchased this product. I set up the tent in the yard, poured the solution into a hand held pump sprayer and applied. It went on easy and and was clear where the solution had soaked into the fabric and where i had missed and could reapply. The gallon was enough for me to fully apply to the whole tent and twice on the rain fly and door. I was pretty heavy handed with it, but I wanted to ensure that I stayed dry. It does have quite a smell, so be sure to use a good mask and eye protection. You don't want to breathe it in or get any on you. Gloves are also recommended. Leave it to air dry and air out as long as you can get away with. I left mine out for 48 hours and could smell the chemicals traces when I used the tent a month later. I did a water test on the tent after it was back up and it repelled the water quite nicely! And the little bit of rain we had on the most recent camping trip shed right off. The chemicals did burn the lawn in the area that I had the tent staked, but it quickly grew, was cut, and turned green so you cannot even see it after a month. If you can use a large tarp under what you're applying it to, or apply over concrete, I would probably advise that. Easy to use, does what it claims. I'm definitely going to purchase this again for some other aging tents, tarps, and covers. ... show more

Used for re-waterproofing our stack-pack style sail cover. Just the ticket. I also treated an old soft-shell jacket with great results. No noticeable change in color or feel of the cloth after treatment. Certainly helps keep the water from soaking in.

I used this on our canopies for our 34' Searay boat. Our canopies were leaking water when it rained and I saw this product and was hesitant to buy as a sales person in the boat shop said there was no product that would help. He said once it starts it will always seep water through. Our canopies are black also and i thought it would discolor. Well I saw the videos and pictures and thought I would try it. I am so happy that I did! I cleaned it first with the starbright cleaner and then the waterproofing. The water now beads off the canopies and no more leaks! And no discoloration. The media could not be loaded. I use this product on one of my tents and it works great as you can see in the video. When I first received the package, there was a little leakage from the container, but not enough to ask for another gallon of waterproofing. I have you recommend getting this product. I used it for my horse blankets. I was saprised it worked so well. We had a realy bad rain storm that night and he was dry as a bone in the morning. Product works as advertised. I treated my car cover by spraying it on and then wiping it in with a rag. Like applying wax. Fully covering all material. Did it while on the car. Restored water intrusion and leakage prevention. You do not have to soak the material. Multilayer application OK if not soaked with product. My classic car is stored outdoors, and car covers last about one- and one-half seasons, even lifetime warranty ones. They refuse to warranty due to water intrusion. Even when pointing out their advertisement says waterproof. I bought a new cover every two seasons. This works to restore the water proofing and I was able to restore two previous covers to great protection. We get allot of rain and sometimes heavy rain, this product and method to apply works. Put on a second coat about a month after the first and am impressed with the ability to repel and stop the water. Still maintains the breathability of the cover. I just wiped the cover off and then sprayed the product on a section at a time and wiped it in. Works. ... show more
