  • Used For Fiberglass Car Thinned ~15% and Sprayed
Color: Blue-Glo White Size: 1 Quarts (Pack of 1)
Pros: Durable, self leveling, forgiving and multiple coats fills imperfections nicely. Cons: Drying/curing time, Blue-Glo looks no different than white to me and four coats to cover white primer, heavy application where dark bondo was used for body work. This was my first time using a professional sprayer, painting a car and using Totalboat Topside paint. I think it looks great and the drying time didn't bother me but could certainly get in the way of someone without five or six days to do a nice job. I did two coats of white and two of blue-glo and see NO difference in the blue-blo at all. ... show more

  • Great finish
Color: Kingston Gray Size: 1 Quarts (Pack of 1)
I put this product over Total Boat High Performance slow set epoxy. It took over 30hrs. to set. When it was finished it looked like a sheet of glass. Top of the line finish with this produce.

  • Tough to use but great paint
Color: Hatteras Off-White Size: 1 Gallon (Pack of 1)
I will have to say that this is the most difficult paint I've ever used as far as getting coat thickness and dry times right. I guess maybe if you keep your shop above 90° it might dry over night like they claim, but it took 48 hours @ 75° for a thin 1st coat to dry enough to sand. I was pretty mad at first but then I started hand sanding and realized that it does a great job of filling and sands easily. The second coat is much easier to deal with but I'm having to really heat the shop up and roll the boat outside to get it to dry. Still, it is a good product...super strong and very wet looking if you do it right. Just do it right; maybe practice with some sheet metal or fiberglass before you tackle a critical job. I've painted most everything at some point over the past 50 yrs including too many autos to count so believe me when I say this paint is difficult, but once you know it's properties, it's ok. Don't expect to be able to roll and tip this paint. If you paint it thick enough to tip with a brush, even a really nice brush using their brush thinner, it will most likely run. And if you paint it thin like they recommend, you'll leave heavy brush marks everywhere without much after-flow. I just rolled it as heavy as possible without running and sanded between coats...then sanded/buffed the topcoat. It took 5 coats to cover gray primer and honestly could use another. You can get good results with this paint but only after a lot of extra work and several coats. ... show more

  • Great paint
Color: Flag Blue Size: 1 Quarts (Pack of 1)
I've been a long time user of the interlux brightside paint,,, they didn't have the color that I wanted so I read the reviews about totalboat wet edge. I was very skeptical at first so what I did I took mixing sticks and dip them into both paints to see which one would cover better I let them dry overnight, and I noticed that the interlocks bright side did not cover as well as the total boat. I noticed the total boat was a lot thicker and I thinned it out with some paint thinners and it covered just beautiful I was able to do both sides of my 23 ft 1985 chaparral xlc as you can see in the pictures my boat was at one time completely gray I only did the lower part with the dark blue and it came out fantastic I used the roll and tip method. Only using one quart of paint and I still have some left over just in case I have to do a touch up. I still can't believe how great this paint covered I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • For me this paint was extremely hard to end up with a good looking job.
Color: White Size: 1 Gallon (Pack of 1)
Received the paint and read the directions. I had read reviews and seen videos before buying it. I knew about surface preparation, and application parameters, so I made sure to be in compliance. I spent an entire day preparing a rather small area. The next day I opened the can. It looked like new paint, (no evidence of having been opened before.) I stirred it completely and started to apply with a good grade natural bristle brush. I am not a professional painter but have been painting all my own things including smaller boats for over 40 years. The paint I received was by far the hardest to apply in a manor that looked good. I was plagued with, not covering evenly white on white, and the paint being “sticky” like marshmallow fluff even when worked with fast and not going over the same spot too many times. I was almost happy with the results when first finished although it was a lot of work. I figured one thin coat after it dried to cover the spots where the older white paint was still showing through. When I came back after over 80 hours I was saddened at what I saw. Sags and drips on all less than horizontal surfaces. When I tried to sand to prep for another coat, I found it to be still not cured by any means, to spite what I thought was super drying conditions. ( the paint got on my hands like it was fresh in spots). I gave up on that small spot for the time. I went to the next spot. I did the best prep I have ever done. It looked good. I decided to try the roll and tip method. I did not have a second person to work with, so just enough paint in the tray and kept rest covered and at a cooler than the 80 degrees temperature that I was working in. I worked fast, rolling a “best roller” roller full, and tipping right away. Three coats with sanding in between. The surface looked close to acceptable when wet but dried with flat sheen in spots and shiny in others. I could not find any correlation between prep and application and the flat sheen. For me the paint was extremely hard to end up with a good even job. Although the first area I did appeared to eventually harden (about a month later) to what is a very durable finish. ... show more
