  • Great Tone & Feel
Style: 5 String Size: Light Color: Original Version
Great strings for the money. Like a working mans. DRs. Solid tone, even, bright and tight. With minor maintenance, wiping with a clean towel after gigs and sessions, these stay clear a long time. Dunlop makes solid products and they are killing it in the string game.

  • great feel
Style: 5 String Size: Light Color: Original Version
These strings beat my expectations. It's the first time I have purchased light gauge strings anticipating a loss of low end frequencies. These strings have full range sound, great tone, and an excellent feel. I was looking for strings with less tension as I was fighting getting around on my 5 string bass with medium gauge strings which I have always used on my basses. Before ditching the bass I thought I would try a lighter gauge and consensus on bass forums were the Dunlop strings. Result for me, keeping the bass and recommending Dunlop strings. ... show more

  • Ibanez BTB 6 string approved
Style: 6 String Size: Medium Color: Clear
I have a tricky 35" BTB Ibanez that is hard to find strings for. With the extended scale length most standard length strings do not fit. Happy to report these worked great. The taper of the string was perfect just beyond nut and they have snappy brightness I was looking for in recording. I also appreciate that I didn't refinance the house to shoe my 6 string bass. ... show more

  • Good tone stiff string.
Style: 4 String Size: Medium Color: Original Version
These strings feel a bit stiff but the tone is clear. Not just the gauge either. Other strings have less tension for the same gauge but I assume that is how these have a nice bell like ring to them even unplugged. If I would not purchase this gauge again on this brand.

  • Very nice sounding strings for a good price
Style: 5 String Size: Medium Color: Silver
This is my first experience with Dunlop strings and I'm very satisfied with the Super Bright Bass Steels. They have a very robust midrange presence that give the bass signal a fullness that can be heard and felt. Out of the box they had the typical metallic zing. When they started to age and loose that "zing", the sound stayed very bright and clear. In other words, they don't go completely dead after a few weeks. So it at least appears that the string life will be long. Finally, I LOVE the slightly looser tension of the string. Great for slapping, but not "floppy" or out of control. It's rare to get this kind of tension on a SS string. The strings are a little more "course" than smooth, which doesn't bother me. Others might find them a little rough if they are just starting out on bass. These strings were a good find. ... show more

  • Longest lasting roundwound strings
Style: 4 String Size: Medium Color: Original Version
I've been playing bass since 1986. I've used just about every brand of long scale bass strings on the market. Dunlop Super Brights in Nickel and Stainless Steel feature the longest life, high end zing, plenty of bottom-end thump and piano-like tone. I use these on passive and active basses.... traditional basses like the Fender Precision and contemporary basses such as the Ibanez Soundgear. Dunlop Super Brights sound good on any bass. The Low B strings are just as good as the E-A-D-G strings on 5&6 string sets. Highly recommended. Great value for the money. ... show more

  • Strings were very bright . Hope for longevity .
Style: 5 String Size: Light Color: Original Version
Hard for me to put them on the guitars but it could be my age (70 yrs. old). But when I put them on , Lord have mercy what a beautiful bright sound . I almost cried (smile). Great strings . May order some more for my 4-string bass guitar.

  • The best flats available
Style: 4 String Size: 45-105 Color: Flatwound
40 years experience playing bass and these are the most even in terms of tension and tone. They take about 2 weeks to break in but it’s so worth it.
