I've looked at several similar products and this is much better than most. The features, jaw width and opening, clamp capacity are just about perfect. The finish on both screw threads is smooth, unlike some I have seen. The only criticism is pivot ball which is coated with a hard finish over a rough casting, including equatorial flash from the mold. This makes it difficult to lock the position exactly where you want. Frequently, it slips because it was clamped on a high spot.     • Broke 1st use.
It broke the 1st time I used it. The ball joint wouldn't remain in place no matter how much I tightened it and then SNAP! it broke. The 360 motion seemed like a good idea but because of it I couldn't get it to stay in a fixed position. I'm a big guy but I was tightening this by hand. It shouldn't have snapped apart like that.
