I just used this for shredding block cheddar cheese. It worked well with one exception. It is hard to change the blades. I liked how quickly and thoroughly it shredded a block of cheese. It is a very sturdy and secure attachment for my Kitchen Aid Mixer.

Great for shredding a bunch of cheese

Nice set. Works fine. We use it primarily for shredding cheddar block and parm/pecorino. Let the machine do the work and no issues at all. No need to run faster than the lowest speed on our tilt-head stand mixer.

A game changer!

We’ve been buying block cheese and grating it ourselves for a while now, but just recently purchased this attachment for our kitchen aide after our other one broke. This is so easy to use, versatile, and durable. It’s also easy to clean as its dishwasher safe. My only complaint and the reason for the 4 stars vs 5 is that the cheese sometimes gets clumped in the back, making it a bit difficult to get them out before loading in the dishwasher and the slicers are also a bit difficult to clip in and twist off. My husband does that part for me. My tip for any users for cheese grating is to switch from high to low setting to get the cheese chunks to spit out of the back before removing for washing.

Good purchase

This was a good purchase for us. We are able to buy the cheese we like in bulk and shred it as needed, There is a learning curve on getting the different cutters in and in cleaning but once learned it is very simple to use. Really like that is stainless steel.

I have arthritis in my hands and this make cheese grating and vegetable prep mostly hands free. It took a couple tries to figure out how to set and release the various inserts, but once I figured it out it’s no problem at all. I would recommend this product

Bad design, awful to clean!

Worst design ever! Wait till you have to clean it. You have to remove snap ring to remove the inside. Do not buy this ! Warning. If you don’t clean it properly, you take chance and will happen getting people sick! When you see the inside, cheese meat or what ever gets stuck behind this. Awful to use! If my window hasn’t closed, it’s going back. Which I believe it has. I didn’t use it right away.
