I like it. I got the Triumph because I couldn't find a Premier anywhere. Its lite but I haven't weighed it. Price point is great. Cast good. Works good with my Stradic 1000. Plus St Croix warranty is absolutely the best. If its anything like the rest of St Croix rods should last a long time. Shipping is great. Came in a hard cardboard tube. 80% of my rods are St Croix. I recently bought a 6-1/2 ft rod, light/fast. For me, the St. Croix has been excellent for trout fishing, all year long. If you buy such a high quality rod, then I would recommend that you pair it with the best spinner reel that you can get. These 2 components, will allow you to feel EVERY bump, from feeling the bottom of the bed, to the ever-slightest tap from the fish. A hard hit, and a successful hook set allow you to experience every bit of fight and pull from the fish. I love the light/fast, because even an average sized fish will give you a handful of action. I ordered a one piece 6 foot 6 inch fishing rod twice. The first time it came in a 5 foot box with the end snapped off of it. Thinking this was a mistake I ordered it again. Again it came in a 5 foot box. This time not even the tip of the rod was included. I love St Croix rods and have 3 of them. Not sure if this was an Amazon error or St. Croix, I’m sure they will blame each other is usually how these things go, but save yourself the aggravation and never order a St. Croix rod though Amazon. 5 stars for being super lightweight though since part of the rod was missing. ... show more

The rod tipped snapped on my third cast. I emailed them about the warranty and it's been 3 months without a reaponse. I understand them being backed up, but to hear nothing is ridiculous
