    • BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK MUSKY ROD ON THE MARKET HANDS DOWN!!
(I purchased this rod elsewhere) My review is tagged "extra heavy" but the rod I purchased was "heavy only"(7'6") not "extra heavy", and it is PLENTY stiff enough(you don't want a pool cue, a little flex keeps hooks in the fish!) I don't have the money to buy a different Musky set-up for every technique so I was looking for a rod to "do it all" with. I am super pleased with everything about this rod. The fit and finish is superb, the action is perfect for both jerkbaits and hard pulling double blade bucktails, plus it's also stiff enough to chuck 6-7oz swimbaits. It's also long enough and has the backbone for "figure 8's". It might be a "touch" long for jerkbaits depending on your technique and height but l'm 5'9" and I can work suicks and reef hogs with it no prob. This rod covers all the bases for someone on a budget and would be tough to beat at it's price point. IT'S A SAINT CROIX AND THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES OF ITS FORM, FUNCTION AND OVERALL QUALITY!     • Nice rod but poor packing
The rod is a good rod and is as expected. I have other rods from the manufacturer. The packaging was poor. One guide was slightly bent from mishandling while boxing the rod. I was able to straighten it out but shipping needs to improve their handling of items.
