The fully integrated Square Register lets you start selling right out of the box with payments, software, and hardware all built by Square—no tablets or apps required. Square Register gives you two touchscreen displays: the seller display lets you effortlessly ring up customers, and the customer display lets customers see what they’re buying and pay and tip onscreen. Accept all types of payments, including EMV chip cards, Apple Pay, Android Pay, other NFC payments, and magstripe cards. Pay one low price per swipe, dip, or tap for Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Get funds in your bank account as early as the next business day. The included point-of-sale software helps you take care of everything from managing items and payments to tracking sales in real time and building a customer directory. Square’s hardware is only approved for use in the country for which it is intended. So far so good. We’ve had these about a month and it has fixed most all of the issues that we were having using an iPad as register with the Square platform. We recently tried out the GoDaddy POS system that they offered us with a discounted rate compared to Square as well as one free terminal and the second terminal for half price. We abandoned it within a week. I love GoDaddy as a host, but their POS system has massive room for improvement. I would really love it if Square continue to develop their system that resulted in pushbutton tax filing at the end of the year for small business owners. This unit has a tilting angle to accommodate different height of cashiers. We have attached a zebra barcode scanner that is corded and has a base. Usually, when it is sitting in the base, the laser is on which allows our cashiers to pass barcodes into the laser stream and does not require a hand on the trigger. But, when we have to use the trigger, it reads multiple very quickly compared to the small Bluetooth barcode scanner we had attached to the iPad. That Bluetooth scanner didn’t make it home in a customers bag one day, but fortunately was returned later that evening. We have two registers that use one receipt printer. The receipt printer is plugged into the ethernet network, and the square registers are connected to the Wi-Fi of the same network. It works well enough, but as we have a second printer, we are planning to plug each one in directly. For ease of access for the customers. The customers now get an option of what type of receipt directly on the screen facing the customers which simplifies interactions between staff and customers. ... show more

    • Got it for a great deal and now I love it
I never thought that one day I was gonna own one of these and here I am, a very happy owner. Ok so maybe because it was on sale for 200 bucks less that what it retails for, but after setting it up, not only is it so much better for my business, it also gives my business a premium vibe. It's not that heavy but it's also a piece of equipment that I am extremely careful with because it's like an iPad and a touch screen phone - you don't wanna drop it. The size is a bit bigger than my iPad which is perfect because it'll better help with making sure that we're pressing the right things when we're taking peoples orders. You don't have to buy the complete set for 1200 bucks - I went and bought just this register and picked up an EPSON receipt printer and a volcora cash drawer which saved me like 200 bucks. ... show more

Has been nothing but issues since we purchased. We weren't new Square customers. We had a basic square terminal, Wanted to upgrade and be able to track our inventory/sales better. Numerous issues, all types if errors that when you look up online people have been having same issue for years. Latest issue, we spent about 10 hours inputting new inventory into the system last week, used it over the weekend then today every single item was gone. Can see the items that sold on past transaction history. They have very limited customer support hours, no weekends. Took me 3 or 4 days to get an email reply about a previous issue that occurred over the weekend. This also doesn't mention when their entire platform lost ability to process credit card payments, they turned off their phone system, so you had no way to contact them. It took 3 or 4 hours for them to even tweet that they were having an issue, system was down 18+ hours. Never an explanation that made sense. Square has the brand name, easy to use for small time sellers that process CC from their phone, but if you're are looking at this item you're going to be mad/frustrated that you wasted your time and money with them, best part is they are so big they don't care. ... show more

wow.. this thing is a state of the art cash register pos... I haven't even turned it on yet. I attempted to get a better deal on ebay but really there was no better deal then right here in Amaze zon! if you look at what your getting for the cost and no monthly fees.. compared to say my Samsung Ultra 22 Plus cell phone costing 3x more than this cash register!!! wow just wow! I did some research on the carry case going around and turns out it not liked and doesn't fit properly. the box this comes in is sort of a case itself however it is big.. This came with zero paperwork not even a pamphlet that I can find.. im planning to use this for my new venture start up estate sale company.. im gonna be more professional than any others in town with this POS! And with the zero interest finance available I was able to have to my door for $170 bucks first payment.. love so far. I found the Volcora cash drawer are compact and compatible and comes in tons of colors and super affordable addition.. I ordered the volcora drawer and receipt printer to go with this.. I also ordered a longer cord for the customer screen from ebay. ... show more
