I don’t write product reviews but I had to with this one. I was on the fence about spending this much money on a collar but I’m 100% glad I did. I have a hound, she is trained well but if they get on a scent they will not stop until they get to the end. This collar was amazing! Period. Buy it. Training was easy..had her using it in 3 days. Unfortunately she got a hold of the collar and destroyed it. Called Spot on. New collar is in the mail as I type. Warranty…customer service…outstanding! You don’t know how good something is until you don’t have it for a couple days and you’re chasing your hound to the next county looking for her. Buy it! ... show more

This has been the worse shock collar ever. Our dog walks out of the barrier not even fazed by the shock, even with his thick fur and us using the extended probes for thick fur use. This sounds terrible, but when the dog passes the shock barrier and he keeps walking away, the shock needs to last more than 1 second. Our chow chow knows that if he runs straight through the electric fence, he only experiences the shock for that 1 second and he can be free. The shock collar did work for a while but he's outsmarted it. The collar is being used as a GPS collar now. Pro: works with a younger dog, water proof, fast chaging, easy to setup Con: smarter dogs learn how to escape, shock is not as strong, gps is too buggy and requires clear skys because even though it tells you the signal is good it could take 2 minutes for the app to give you accurate location. Subscription for live tracking is the same way, the real time tracker for when he escapes will tell you the exact spot he's in, until the gps loses track of the signal, then you're just sitting at the spot where your dog should be but no where to be found.... until the signal reconnects with the satellite. I think I will purchase a manual shock collar. Edit: this thing has randomly shocked our dog, even while inside of the fence. I know there can be satellite drift, but we extended the fence quite far to prevent this and it has still done it ... show more

    • This GPS fence collar is a game changer!

This is a first impressions review after 3 days of use. This GPS fence collar is a game changer! We have a 14 month old German Shepard and got the large size. He was about 5th slot on the collar buckle, I trimmed a couple inches off leaving a couple inches for expansion. Our boy started running off into the woods nearby about a week ago so I did my research and bought this SpotOn GPS fence collar for him. I set the static shock at 3/4 power and that seems to be sufficient for him. It was noticeable when he tried to go past the GPS fence I set, and he backed off every time, even when charging to it full speed. This system is very accurate on the fence lines, and I was able to easily set the fence and collar settings on the app in a few minutes after downloading it. Another plus is you can use this without the tracking subscription, but if you ever need to track you can pay a month at time for $10 month to month. So you can get just a one month subscription if you need to track your dog down. The collar goes on around 5:30 in the morning, and when we take it off for the night around 10 pm, it is showing around 45 percent battery life left on the app. So the battery seems to be good enough to get through an entire day of use before recharging it.     • WISH THE BATTERIES LASTED LONGER

I BOUGHT 2 COLLARS. ONE FOR A GREAT PYRANEES AND ONE FOR AN AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD. THE PYRANEES TOOK A LITTLE LONGER TO TRAIN ON THE COLLAR DUE TO ALL HER FUR AND SO I HAD TO TURN IT UP A BIT. THE AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD I BARELY HAVE TO TURN UP AT ALL. SHE HEARS THE NOISE AND SHE DOESN'T GO ANYWHERE. I WISH THAT YOU DID'NT HAVE TO HAVE SEPERATE ACCOUNTS FOR EACH DOG. BUT AT LEAST YOU CAN SEE THEM ON ONE APP. SO THAT IS EASY ENOUGH. I THINK ONE OF MY FAVORITE FEATURES IS THE ESCAPE LOGS. IT WILL SHOW YOU WHEN AND WHERE THEY ESCAPE. THIS IS HOW I KNEW THAT TURNING UP THE COLLAR FOR MY PYRANEES WAS WORKING. HER ESCAPES WERE LESS FREQUANT AND WHEN THEY DID HAPPEN, THEY WERE BRIEF! LOL! THE ONLY THING I WISH IS, I WISH THE BATTERIES LASTED LONGER. I WORK NIGHTS SO I HAVE TO FIND THE PERFECT TIME TO CHARGE THEIR COLLARS WITHOUT THE CHANCE OF THEM RUNNING OFF. AFTERNOON NAP TIME WORKS. :) WOULD I RECOMMEND THESE....YES! BUT LIKE I SAID I WISH THE BATTERY WOULD HOLD A CHARGE A LOT LONGER. ... show more
