  • Affordably priced rack that will keep you safe and give you a few extras.
Color: Red Style: Power Cage Only
For the price I paid, this power rack is great quality. The assembly was enjoyable. The accessories and equipment are what I remember needing for a decent workout at my high school gym - and then more. The whole power rack is pretty solid. I don't doubt it can hold the 300 to 500 lbs. that I need it to, since I am just getting back into lifting. I do think there could be more stability side-to-side, but it is nothing I am worried about. The metal is powder-coated and some coating was missing around the edges of a couple pieces due to shipping. Assembling the power rack took me most of a day, but I am not practiced at assembling things. And it was somewhat enjoyable even for a novice because the instructions are clear and divided clearly by steps, with the hardware for each step plainly labeled so there is no guessing which bolts you need to grab. It comes with two flat crescent wrench tools which are great if you don't have tools of your own. I recommend a drill or driver with a 17mm socket to speed things up, just don't overtighten because the metal will start to bend. I love the fact that the kit I bought came with a lat-pulldown bar, a smaller flat bar, tricep pushdown rope attachment, and two D-handles with an ankle strap for flies and rows. It even came with dip handles for added tricep work or core workouts. I did not expect (probably because I wasn't shopping for it) a landmine attachment or a barbell holder. All of the extras were appreciated and make me glad I purchased this power rack. Here is my main criticism and my solution for it, so far. Upon trying out the barbell squat, I went to get under the bar and found myself almost touching the cable pulley assembly with my nose. I could get the bar without touching my nose, but I felt like it was too close. So for now, I switched the J-hooks to the rear bar and I will do squats facing backwards. The second criticism I have is that all of the accessories hanging from the hooks around the outside of the cage get in the way of my barbell. I will be removing most of the hooks and accessories to put them either on my wall or in a container on the floor. To sum it up, I simply wanted a power rack to perform squats and bench press safely without a spotter. I am definitely satisfied it will fulfill my purposes. And now I have the added core, arm, and back workout flexibility I wouldn't normally get with a home gym setup. ... show more

  • Awesome power rack
Color: Black Style: Power Cage Only
This power rack is an excellent value for the price. Don't pay too much attention to reviews comparing it to commercial gym equipment. That's simply not a fair comparison. A rack that costs ten times as much will naturally have higher-end construction, but the performance gap is much smaller than you might expect. For a home gym, this rack is impressively stable. Even during heavy pulling movements, there's virtually no flex, and the safety bars have performed flawlessly. I've loaded it with up to 350 lbs without any issues. If you're looking to build a home gym, don't have a spotter for bench presses or squats, and want a reliable, well-built power rack without spending a fortune, this is a great choice. Assembly was straightforward, and the overall footprint is ideal for a home gym. I have 8-foot ceilings, and it fits comfortably with about 10 inches of clearance. ... show more

  • Good for exercise enthusiasts but not for heavy-weight-training pros.
Color: Red Style: Power Cage Only
The shipping boxes had some structural issues. But, I don't know if that was due to the manufacturer or Amazon shipping. I feel a little lucky nothing fell out through the holes in the boxes. I verified before setup that everything was there. I'll add a Timelapse video of the setup to this review when I've got an extra moment. The assembly went pretty smoothly. And the instructions were adequate. The way everything is packaged makes it pretty straight forward. If you have the right tools, it goes together quick. Using only the included tools, it takes a bit longer to put together. One hole was not aligned on the top and bottom. I saw another review where they just left that screw out and it was fine. I have a dremmel though and just fixed it so I could put the screw through where it was supposed to go. Laying everything out in order was super helpful and made the setup process smooth. The construction is a little light-weight. The metal is a little thinner than I expected. For example, while screwing it together with a power drill, I bent the metal near the holes. So, I'd say you probably wouldn't want to load it up as heavy as the ad says it can handle. I have about 250 lbs in weights, and that seems about ideal for this structure. It doesn't wobble when it's all put together with the amount of weight I use with it (250 lbs). It's compact. I have it set up in a spare bedroom that I use as my office. Because of my 7ft 8 in ceilings, I flipped the pull-up bar upside down, which gives me more head clearance for pull-ups. I'm 5 ft 6 in tall, and with the bar flipped upside down, my feet can stand flat on the ground while hanging from the bar. With it flipped the other way, it would otherwise be perfect for my height without having to bend knees or things like that to use it. And flipped the other way, I have barely enough room to not bonk my head on the ceiling. But I'd rather not risk it. It's also about as wide from end-to-end as a standard olympic bench-press bar. So, perfect width overall for me. And, I can do bench press inside of the squat rack instead of from the forward most posts. This allows for a more compact footprint, but also causes some logistical issues with the top weight-holding pegs. And let's face it, I'm never going to use that bar-holder thing on the side. I could just remove it. But I can still fit weights onto the weight-holder pegs. One nice thing about this is that beyond the stuff that ensures structural integrity, you can leave off stuff you don't need (like the landmine trip hazard). I use this a lot for pull-ups, bench press, and squats. I also use the lat-pull and pulley at the bottom for legs. It literally serves all of my weight-lifting needs when accompanied by a bench-press bar, bench, a curl bar, and 250 pounds of olympic weights. Why waste money at the gym - except for the social aspects of going to the gym (which I don't really care about). I can even take a five-minute break while at work between meetings, etc to do a set of pull-ups, etc for sheer stress relief. Basically, when I was a fitness/body-building-oriented teenager, I thought the ideal set up would be... exactly what this is. And I still feel that way. Set it up in the garage and invite a buddy to come lift with you. And if they can't come, then at least set up the safety bars to help if you can't get that last rep completely all the way up. Overall, I'm super satisfied with this. When I have to move, it will be easy to disassemble into the basic frame components and to re-setup. It contains everything I need at a price I can afford. Although a little lighter-weight than expected, it's plenty for my needs for cross-training and weight lifting while training for my next marathon and beyond. It's a winner for me and for anyone in my height and fitness level. Note: I'm 49, 5ft 6in, and weigh between 125 and 135 lbs depending on the day. This power rack is adequate for all of my weight-training needs. ... show more

  • Good for value, even with the concerns, it is so worth it
Color: Red Style: Power Cage Only
It’s great for the price point. Instructions aren’t too hard to follow. The quality is reasonable due to the price. I wish it was a tiny bit taller but I’m 6’1 and can still make it work. There is a little wobble with the bar dips. Probably will put a piece of rubber in there tbh. I don’t know if I can trust the weight holders but so far they’re holding with 3 plates. The Olympic bar holder is in the way of the lower right weight plate holder but it’s manageable. Wondering about the cable will manage over time with the weights on it but we shall see. So far I’m very happy and those are my only criticisms. Build time: I did it by myself and had a ratchet. two times I put a bar facing the wrong way or the wrong side. It took me 2 hours and 30 minutes solo. I timed it. Closer to 2 hours since I did stop to set up music and clean up. If you plan to have a set of plates AND a set of bumper plates. Do yourself a favor and get another rack for the weights. There isn't enough room for two full sets. I fit six metal 45 plates on it with bumpers that are 2-45, 2-35, 2-25, 2-15, 2-10 bumper paltes. My 45 bumper plates sit on the side of the floor. everything else is crammed on. This is budget friendly and overall worth it. If you cant make it work, yet want this price, then it may be a hard truth its a you problem. I put off using this thing for way too long, but actually put it in practice and it is just fine now. Bench back squats power cleans, then i do my pull ups push ups, bent rows, lat pull downs, use the land mine, seated rows, you name it. I am going to use it for incline bench but haven't tried it yet. I see a lot of people want some crazy commercial ready gym but there's a reason the others are FIVE times the price minimum to get to this. If the cables die out on me, I will just replace them and buy a wire crimping tool to cut it and clamp it down. Its that easy. If you're truly worried about something breaking, it is so straight forward to fix. I am 240 6'1, I feel the bars and everything is stable. I don't feel like the cage will ever move or knock over. There really isn't a way to lock it down as there is a bar up front that keeps you from screwing it into the wall. So if you wanted to lock it down, you may need something on top pushing down but its so unrealistic to knock it over. ... show more

  • Honest review from a muscle mom
Color: Black Style: Power Cage Only
I give this product 5 stars for the following pros/ cons. I will start by saying I’m a 5’8 and 155lb muscle mom, my husband is 6’4 and 200lbs. I will use us both for reference. Please do you research before you buy. I add my list here of things to hopefully help give more information from someone who’s used it Daily for 5 months now. PROS 1. Squat rack options work great for me but it is a tight area inside so if your bigger you will need to squat outside the cage on the front. 2. Great for bench press 3. Very sturdy structure, has minimal giggle or movement when I load my weights on to the side storage rack. If you move them from there it probably wouldn’t be as sturdy. We had put it together in one spot and I decided to move it, let’s just say it wasn’t easy and took two people (still hard to move). 4. The instructions were great and easy to follow, it was easy to assemble in about 5 hours with 1 person doing it all themselves. 5. Land mine works great. I love using it for good mornings, RdL, rows, kneeling presses, pushups ect 6. Pulley system works best with HEAVY weight (70lb: plus) anything less is met with no eccentric control or resistance. CONS: 1. Cable system is really only good with heavy weight. -hard to do small isolating muscle exercises (triceps, biceps, glutes ect.) ****** I purchased some exercise bands that cover 10,20,30,40,50 lbs that I can’t do with this cable system. -The system seems to have a lot of resistance on the eccentric movement (the release of the exercise). - the pulley connection where the cable with your attachment comes out is awkward when you have it in the elevated position (lat pull down specifically I have to sit criss cross ). I am 5’8 and when I kneel on the ground I’m too tall for full range of motion with lat pull downs. - seated row: the foot plate makes no sense cause it’s way to close to the cage, you can’t keep that tension you want to in the position. But if I use a bench seated I can get a decent row. I ended up removing the foot plate. - RDL & hip abduction/ addiction: not going to happen with the cable system. The resistance gets met with all parts of the workouts. - Pulls ups: works for us if we both bend our knees. - the security bridge in the middle is SO hard to move to a new level, I’m not sure if it’s just me but I’ve smashed my finger way too many times. It’s hard to get them both lined up in the same hole. TIP: I kept about 2 feet from the wall, and about 1.5 feet measure wall to bottom back leg, just so I had space to move behind and load the weights Overall I love this and I would buy it again! Just get a bench to go with it! ... show more

  • Some design flaws. Overall a good power rack.
Color: Red Style: Power Cage Only
Overall this is an excellent power rack for my home gym. The pulley system works well and the side spotter rails are excellent and allows for protection in case you fail on a squat or bench press. The numbers on the uprights make it easier to set your J-hooks in the proper locations for benches, squats, and overhead presses. This rack seems sturdy enough for home use although it may not suit individuals who do some seriously heavy lifting. For the price, it can't be beat. There are however a few design flaws. If you set up your squat in the back of the rack, you will have difficulty due the cables being in your way. I couldn't get under the bar without having my face rubbing against the cables so i put the hooks on the other side. Secondly, whoever decided to place the upper weight storage posts where they are made a huge design error. I couldn't load the weights for a bench press due to the storage posts being in the way. I removed them altogether. This flaw made no sense to me. The purpose of a power rack is to set up INSIDE the rack with spotter rails to ensure your safety. Benching or squatting outside of the rack makes no sense: You might as well save space and purchase a half rack. The spotter arms on the outside are short and aren't going to save you in the event of a failed squat or bench press and defeat the purpose of having a full power rack. Don't get me wrong, this is a good rack, it's just that the design needs to be rethought. Assembly took me about 2.5 hours and the instruction manual is excellent. The packets of bolts are numbered for each step making it very easy to follow but you will need a second person to help install the chin-up bar and the cross bar that the lat pulldown rests on. The price of $389 is excellent but you may want to spend a few more dollars on a rack that doesn't have the design flaws this one has. ... show more

  • Great buy
Color: Red Style: Power Cage Only
I usually dont review but thought I should for anyone else looking for a budget homegym. I was very skeptical prior to ordering this because some comments were great while others were bad but ultimately decided on buying it after reading and watching reviews If you're thinking of getting it, get it. It took me about 2 hours to assemble it by myself, mostly using the pictures and not reading the confusing text. Its is not too difficult to assemble but parts of the assembly are tricky (for example, while connecting the top back corner brackets; i thought they shipped me brackets that misaligned with screw holes but it turns out i had to orient it a certain way to align properly). I was missing one #4 screw but i blame shipping and handling for it. The build quality is great, although some parts were dinged and some chipped paint but again this is because of shipping. The price is beyond excellent for the quality. It is study but i noticed that wobbleness largely depends of how leveled your floor is. I didn't install the barbell holder because the location didn't make sense and the landmine because i wouldn't use it and didn't want any obstruction in my small path. Overrall, this was a great purchase and makes a great addition to my home gym. It is very functional and the dimensions were excellent for my small garage. ... show more
