This is a plastic kennel designed for a lifetime of use. Our plastic crate will be your “go to” everyday home crate and Travel kennel. We also had airline travel in mind when designing this kennel. We include everything you need should you chose to ever fly with your dog. Check out our VIDEO here on this page for a quick VIDEO tour of kennel features. Crate/ kennel assembly is fast and easy. Locking snaps hold the kennel halves together; additional included metal hardware locks the kennel together giving you peace of mind that your crate will make it safe and secure. Some dogs chew their escape through plastic ventilation holes. We use metal slats to mitigate the chewing problem and keep your pet safe. This is the only crate to buy for international travel if your dog is the size that it houses. My husky mix is 65lbs and you would think he would be fine in an XXL. He certainly can fit in an XXL. However, all airlines now require dogs in cargo to have 3” approx above their erect ears and other measurements to do with length. They all vary a bit - you have to check - but just because your dog can get in a crate doesn’t mean they will accept it. If you have a Great Dane then forget it - you’re going to have to custom build a crate in wood. So rest assured - if your dog meets the size requirements then this crate meets the airlines/cargo’s. Plus points to this crate above others (I’ve had them all on Amazon) 1- wheels for transport to and from the cargo. Brilliant and easy to take on and off. A game changer in the car park and various terminals. 2. Metal bolts included 3. Great latch. 4. Well made 5. Good enough packaging You will need to buy the sport pet feeders with outside access to water. And some pee pads. They don’t allow a blanket or puffy pillow or toys. Pee pads is it. Allow plenty of time for delivery. This is something that you need to order 4 weeks before because there is a high chance it will be delayed. Don’t risk it!! I had to order 3 and only one came! Amazon prime is your security - return the back up(s) And please make sure you read carefully who is actually sending/selling it. Some sellers may not even be in the US! Some maybe the other side of the country. Don’t risk one coming from Puerto Rico or even Europe! Read the small print! The closer you can buy this crate from the less likely it is to be damaged or late. Best of luck with your travels! You have to accept the insane high price compared to the XXL - maybe you will get lucky and find it on sale but don’t risk a cheap price for a longer journey! We are moving across the country and have 1 dog and 1 cat. The last time I moved a dog it was in this style of kennel, and it worked perfectly, so I bought 2 of these. I purchased based on the length of our animals when stretched out laying down, and the height. Our cat is more like a Maine coon size wise, and our dog is small at 11 pounds, but long. Based on that I purchased 2 large kennels (the airline said this kennels “large” measure as a medium on their size charts, so keep that in mind). They have more than enough headroom for the recommended cushion (under “this kennel often bought with”) and a soft blanket. Plenty of room to stretch out and turn around. So for a larger cat, and a small 11 pound dog, the large is a pretty perfect size. If you have a larger animal I would definitely measure them carefully before buying. Otherwise it is sturdy, super easy to put together, 2 wheels are locking, which is great. And there are comfy lifting hand nooks on the sides. My cat and dog seem perfectly comfy in them. I LOVE this in my RAV4. I have been using an older Vari-Kennel, but found it tricky to secure my dog in the car, even though I have tie downs in the vehicle. This is such an improvement for me , easy to attach bungee cords and she is much safer now! It's so easy to travel with it. If I do remove it from the vehicle, just unsnap it and viola! This is a well made and easy to put together. I was impressed with the quality of the product and the workmanship. I research many and settle for this one because of great reviews and it also had wheels that you could put on if needed. I had a small problem with how Amazon shipped it to me and contacted the manufacturer and they were super. Great customer service. The customer service would get 10 stars. I got this crate for my mini goldendoodle (33 lbs) I got him XXL because airlines are very strict about crate sizes. My pup was able to travel internationally with the crate.
