This carrier is one of the best I’ve ever had for my cats, and I’ve had quite a few! I wanted this for my older cat, who is quite elderly and has arthritis and back pain. I hoped that getting her into and out of this carrier would be a bit easier for her, and it truly is. Everyone at the vet’s office loves it, too, and we get a lot of compliments. I was a bit concerned with the folding sides, but they do seem to lock securely into position, and overall the carrier feels sturdy and reliable. My cat travels with me everywhere and has frequent vet visits due to her age. After months of heavy use, this carrier still looks and functions like new. I know it has an unusual shape, but the handle is pretty comfortable, and it is easy to carry. My cat likes to sit up and look through the slots in this carrier, whereas she couldn’t see out of her previous carrier’s ventilation holes very much. Aside from the main benefit of making travel easier on my old friend, my favorite thing about this carrier is the way the locking mechanism works. You simply lift up or put down the door handle to secure or unlock the door. It almost feels too easy, yet I’ve never had any reason to doubt that it was secure. My cat, Cookie, was diagnosed with kidney disease this year. As a result, she has to do at least once a week fluid treatments, which means that vet visits are frequent. Now, Cookie hates the vet, always has, and has a big fuss every time I have to wrangle her into a carrier, so after looking at the design for this one and reading the reviews, I decided to purchase it. The foldaway design is space saving and easy to assemble, and it features a comfortable little bed for your cat to sit on. Best of all is the way the carrier opens up - - there's a ton of space and this gives my vet and the techs access to my grumbly old lady cat without dealing with the danger of taking her out of the carrier, making giving her fluid injections much easier. Cookie feels safer inside it and I have not had to apologize for her clawing a vet tech since I got it. The design of the sides felt a little flimsy so I was concerned, but the locking feature on each side means that your cat is safe and secure for trips. It is also small enough to fit under an airport seat I believe. One thing I'll note is that Cookie's a smaller cat (about 7lbs) and I've not tested it with larger cats yet, but I think it'd be able to hold bigger cats. In addition, I've gotten a lot of compliments from the vet office since getting it! The techs think it's cute and it has made her visits easier, and her vet described it as very cat-friendly. The only thing I would like is a wider variety of colors, but overall this is a well-designed, affordable and pet friendly carrier. ... show more

Every time I go to the vet, I get compliments on this cat carrier by other pet owners. I always tell them that I love that the opening to put my cat in is large - much easier than my other cat carrier with the small square opening. It also comes with a comfy pad for the cats to lay on, which my cats freely choose to sleep in without the carrier reminding them of the fear of going to the vet! It can even fit 2 cats. My favorite part - when not in use, it folds up like a briefcase and stores easily in the closet! ... show more

I used our new carrier for the first time today. Things I love about it: It fits our big growing cat much better than the other traditional carriers we have. I like that it is taller than the prior carrier so he has doesn’t have to be scrunched down and flattened out the entire time he’s in there. It is also a breeze to get an uncooperative cat in and out. Before I would have to unceremoniously shove him in hind legs first while he put up a huge struggle. This time he went in easily with no fighting or struggling, and it was a breeze to close the door once he was in. I also love that we can store it flat as we have limited storage space. Finally, Captain Jack LOVES the pad that came with it, and he is now insisting I leave it open so he can nap in it. They only thing I don’t love about the carrier is that it feels slightly flimsy, like it doesn’t quite go together all the way. As I was walking him into the vet’s office, I was slightly afraid it would pop open, and I kept checking it to make sure it didn’t come apart.
