This thing does work! Yes it pulled a few hairs and its not perfect, but it definitely works. I had a lot of split ends after a year of blonding, and was thinking about getting a bob haircut. Decided to give it a try and bought this tool. I love it! The only thing is that I think one needs a hair trim after using Split Ender, because it cuts off split ends and you had then at the bottom of your hair, the hair will look nicer but with an slightly uneven line. So if you like you hair straight and even, plan for a trim after this.

I felt compelled to write a review because I'm a licensed cosmetologist and I feel like an absolute idiot for falling for this. It's like the get-rich-quick scheme of hair trimming! I did some chemical processing on my hair a few months ago and noticed some split ends after everything was said and done, which was expected. I knew I needed a trim, but didn't want to sacrifice much length and had always wondered about this product so I figured I'd give it a shot. I saw mixed reviews for it at the time, but you know how it is--you see what you want to see and go against your better judgment because you're excited to try something new. It arrived and I ran it through my hair and WOW did it look better fast! A lot of my split ends were gone, my hair was soft and more manageable and I didn't lose a ton of my length....I was sold! Until a week later when I noticed that almost every hair on my head suddenly had a split end. I thought it was odd, but figured.....maybe I somehow didn't notice them and the condition of my hair was worse than I initially realized. So I ran it through my hair again and boom....soft hair, no split ends, fantastic! Until a week later when again.....almost every single hair on my head had a split end. I was baffled! I've been colouring and using heat on my hair since high school and have never experienced this kind of damage--and I now use my iron at 100 degrees cooler of a temperature than I did then, with a heat protectant spray. This shouldn't have been happening....it made no sense! I started searching online with the heading "split ender made my hair worse" and I learned a lot. The blades inside the machine aren't razor sharp the way shears are, so it doesn't create a clean cut. It basically chews and rips your ends off instead, causing a fray in the hair fiber which then turns into a split not long after. If you're looking for a trim without sacrificing much length, this is not the godsend it appears to be. I ended up taking shears to my hair and cutting an inch off just to rid myself of all the split ends before they got worse. I ended up losing more length in the end than I would've had I just trimmed it in the first place. I'm so upset with myself for falling for this and I hope that my experience warns the rest of you away from doing the same to your hair. I know it's not ideal when you're trying to grow your hair out, but going and getting a good trim from a licensed stylist with real shears is truly the way to go. If you go regularly, the length lost will be so minute you'll barely notice it and you won't be filled with regret as you gape in awe at your shredded hair a week after using this like I did. Learn from my mistakes, ladies.....save that beautiful hair of yours and do not order this product!!! You deserve better than chewed up, split, fried ends!

I just got my Mini Split Ender hair trimmer! This is a legit, no BS review. I have been dying my hair red for a while now and use a lot of heat styling, so naturally I have a lot of split/dry ends that tug when I run my fingers/comb through it. I saw Grav3yardGirl’s youtube video on the Split Ender Pro 2 and when I saw it was almost $150, I knew I couldn’t afford that product but wanted something for my split ends without resorting to a drastic cut. I. Love. This. Thing. Cheaper than the Pro 2, and I think the results are good. It takes some getting used to, but once you’ve got the hang of it, it helps a lot. My hair feels really soft, I see less frays, not a complete and total fix and there’s still room for improvement, but I can definitely attest to the fact that a lot of split ends were trimmed and my hair feels a lot better! Hopeful for the next round. Also, read the instructions thoroughly! The way the arrow is pointing is the direction you should be feeding your hair and sliding it down, change the arrows when you’re working on the other side of your head, if need be. And feed a little bit of hair at a time without exceeding more than 3 passes for one section. Great results, easy to use.

I got the mini because I have short hair and it’s fairly thin it’s very easy to use. It’s very durable and lightweight. You can’t speed through for a fast trim. You have to take small sections of your hair at a time and you have to make sure your hair is smooth before if you have curly hair

i really like the idea of this product but i think that there are a few design flaws. first, once u get to the end of a section of hair it kinda tugs the hairs and i felt a few break from that. another is that there are little shavings of my hair sprinkled all over me and a little bit on my counter (i attached a photo) it’s not that bad but it’s hard to get out of clothes. other than that this thing is a life changer, i have box bleached the under side of my hair and it was so dead and crusty but now it’s just like the rest of my head. overall, i’d give this a 9/10, i really like that i didn’t lose any length at all. i’m not sure how well it would work on curly hair but it worked perfectly on my straight hair. if you’re considering it, read the comments before u commit cuz it’s kinda pricey

This product barely trimmed the split ends. I normally have a lot of split ends and after using this product I still do. I sectioned my hair accordingly but it still barely worked. Also it pulled out long strands of hair not just split ends. When the machines is in the bag, the button will turn on by itself.
